The first three defendants were deemed to have violated Article 406 paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Criminal Code concerning "the destruction of other property." This judge's sentence was lower than the prosecutor's Rohmadi claim of 4 years and two months for Iss and 4 years for Sutarno and Brilliant.
