(en) Statement anarchists Moldova: On the prohibition symbol "Hammer and Sickle" (ru) [machine translation]
Date
Tue, 08 Jan 2013 12:32:10 +0200
The need to clarify our position on the prohibition symbol "Hammer and Sickle" consider it
necessary to state the following: ---- 1. Anarchists have always been against the
repressive attitude to work, both the Nazis and by the Stalinists. However, the last
controversial law is devoid of purpose to condemn the repression against the people, and
is populisky character, in order to attract far-right, nationalist and anti-communist
electorate. Also this law aims to crackdown on "opposition" PCRM (the Party of Communists
of the Republic of Moldova). ---- 2. Just think it is important to note that PCRM has
never acted in the interests of the workers, and "Hammer and Sickle" it inherited from the
Soviet past, it actively uses to attract nostalgic citizens Soviet generation. Ban on the
use of those symbols will hit the party's electoral performance.
3. The scandal surrounding this law is beneficial parties of the ruling Alliance for
European Integration. Government is trying to distract people from the serious economic
and social problems, that is, for want of bread, give people shows. A "red" opposition
tries to divert the workers from fighting for their interests. Put their party interests
above the interests of the workers. Hammer and sickle, the only thing that ties with the
Soviet Communist past. The ban of the symbol would negate the disorganization of the labor
movement, from kom.partii. It loses its leverage over the toiling masses.
4. We strongly oppose the suppression of dissent by the authorities. Despite our
ideological differences with the communists, we categorically do not accept political
censorship, as well as all kinds of restrictive measures.
5. We call upon the people of Moldova not to succumb to these cheap provocation and fight
for their social interests. Just call not to be like "fetish", for no prohibition of any
character was, will not stop the workers' struggle for their own class interests. Ban
"hammer and sickle" can only affect those who are trying, of this character derive
political benefits.
Sincerely group of anarchists Moldova
