(en) France, Alternative Libertair #223 - Europe: An international response is built (fr) [machine translation]

While the European Trade Union Confederation defends reformist orientations, the European
Network of alternative unions and works to provide basic combative response to austerity.
---- Faced with the crisis, the role of trade unions is to mobilize social forces in an
international perspective. From this point of view, the European day of action on November
14 has taken a new dimension. The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), which
supports the European treaties, was forced to call it by the announcement of strikes in
Spain, Portugal and Greece. Ultimately, many employee-es showed twenty-eight European
countries. In France, Solidarity proposal to call a one-day strike was rejected by other
organizations in late October, but events took place. The CES is not the only option for
European coordination.
As part of a dynamic clearly offensive, the European Network of alternative unions and
base unit already organized international movements in several areas. For November 14,
member organizations have launched a joint appeal "Do not pay for their crisis! "To
actively support the strikes and demonstrations (see box). Convergence of such unions are
essential to fight against the scale of the attacks.

Do not pay for their crisis!
Wednesday, November 14, 2012, inter strikes will take place in Greece, Portugal, Spain,
Italy, Cyprus, Malta. Sector strikes will be held in Belgium, France ... Events are
planned in all these countries, but also in Slovenia, Czech Republic ...
The "crisis" is not a non-natural phenomenon, it's just the current state of the
capitalist system. To maintain their profit margins to continue to put in their pockets,
shareholders, bankers and profiteers need to attack heavily all social rights that we
acquired during past social struggles. We must not let us do it!
European institutions, the European treaties do not protect us, rather, they were created
to support those who exploit us. Unemployment, insecurity, poverty, flexibility, racism is
the future that we offer those who govern. Instead, we want to build a different future,
based on the needs of all possible with a different redistribution of wealth that we
produce in the world.
Strikes and demonstrations will take place on November 14 is a step. The alternative
unions and basic work organizing a European strike for a long time we have organized
international movement unit in several professional sectors, inter-action is required.
That's why we participate in European action on 14 November!
