"Peer-to-equal", two days of lectures, debates, exhibitions, demonstrations and
performances. The goal is a maximum for federate create a dynamic expression and public
debate and popular feminist issues, sexist and antihomophobes.
Spurred on by Libertarian Alternative 49, a group of 14 organizations associations, trade
unions and political consists in Angers in 2011 to organize these meetings. It is
encouraging struggles over immediate demands, creating the link between militant activists
and their organizations, working some axes control ... After a successful 2011 edition,
"equal to equal" was held on 19 and 20 October in Angers. The event and its themes were
well advertised locally (press, radio and web). The turnout was even stronger than 2011
(800 against 600 in total last year), with a diverse audience, a high proportion of young
people, especially a large Feminization (70% on average). Care of children has been
extended and has effectively facilitated the arrival of many women. Finally, but not least
politically, many activists from different political backgrounds have worked together in a
very good atmosphere in the preparation of the event.
Proceedings of any kind
The first evening was attended by nearly 200 people, a debate on prostitution (see below).
It took place peacefully without masking differences in viewpoints. Different approaches
have been able to complete (theory, field experience ...), ask for a large number of
issues. One of them is that necessary articulation of the abolitionist perspective, with a
draft comprehensive policy which would aim solidarity and the satisfaction of material and
social needs of individuals and non-profit and / or repression. Three roundtables were
also held on the second day. We will discuss only a few highlights in various discussions,
rich and quality. The first debate, "Gender and Education" helped to address the very
topical theme of homosexual parenting, showing that he must untie the nature of the
maternal and paternal symbolic roles. Everyone, regardless of their sex, may be mom or
dad, or both, at different times. We also have emphasized the urgency of equal rights for
homoparents, given situations sometimes dramatic social parent without the right to parent
children stigmatized for lack of "real" parents ... well, the second roundtable
injunctions against women has to deconstruct the alleged naturalness and inevitability of
male and female. This ideological division has been linked to many physical domination of
patriarchy, and therefore the need for a radical change in society.
Give voice to bring our claims
Following discussion, about 200 comrades braved the rain to protest and distribute
leaflets and protest slogans, brilliantly accompanied by a Marching Band all dressed in
red and black ("At the mouth of ch'val"). The evening ended with the popular theater and
music on the theme of prostitution (ocus company). Finally, note that several hundred
people visited the stands of different organizations, as well as exposure to the Angevin
feminism in the twentieth century, created by members of the collective. It is therefore
of days to complete a satisfactory track record, which we hope will lead to develop this
group and its initiatives, so it is a tool to create or strengthen the movement for
equality, everywhere, time.
