There was always a libertarian tradition in Caribbean area. The libertarian sentiment has 
always impregnated the people from Cuba; this revolutionary expression has born early, 
while the first fights against the slavery and for the independence in the 19th century. 
The libertarian movement in Cuba has more than 100 years, and was banned out of the 
official historiography by the historians and by the editors in Cuba, serving the 
Communist Party. ---- In 1959, the different anarchist organisations fighting, in 
underground, or in guerrilla for the Revolution together with the pro Castro militants,
were forbidden.  In these years the libertarians were murdered or sent to the jail, or 
exiled. ---- The libertarian movement in Cuba fight today to give the life for the 
anarchism. A group of youths, inside of the libertarian workshop of Alfredo Lopez, ask 
about the Cuban reality, the history of the libertarian movement and its ideas.

Despite of the repression and the lack of the liberty of expression in the
medias in the hands of the regime, all libertarian point of view judged
subversive, the libertarians are going out of the underground, their
presence asserts today on the streets and in the districts.
The revolution has created a lot of the frustration and the deception,
especially for the new generations. A deep desire of liberty, of dignity,
of expression, of act, is existing in Cuba.

The social connexions tend to be reinvented to contribute for âthe
revolution in the revolutionâ and to fight the bureaucracy and the
generalized corruption.

The rebirth of the libertarian movement in Cuba and the existence of the
self-governed social forum, is the key element to undertaking the task of
education and awareness. To develop libertarian discourse and critical
currents of self-governance, federalism and the ecology, we need material
which is difficult to acquire on the island. That's why there is a need
for a measure of external support, even if that support is subtle.
International assistance to oppositional groups could easily be mistaken
as Imperialist funding to assist the counter-revolution.
All support by books, revues, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, concerning the
self-governed experiences, the cooperatives, the green economy, the
decreasing of the libertarian idea are collected with interest, to give
the opportunity to the Cuban militants, standing since longtime without
any free information or any way of the free analyze, to compete the
economic, the social and politic problems of the 21st century.

The international political solidarity is as well important in the case of
repression and the obstruction coming from the services of the internal
ministry, or the security of the state, when the companions are worrying
about their activities.
