(en) Brazil, Anarchist Federation of Rio de Janeiro FARJ - The Struggle for the 18th Base Cry of the Excluded (pt) [machine translation]
Date

In this 18th edition of "Cry of the Excluded", Avenida Presidente Vargas in Rio de
Janeiro, was occupied by dozens of flags of struggle. After the bogus military parade
extolling patriotism submissive, the excluded have taken Avenue and made their claims. And
even with a "winter sun" of 35, hundreds of activists of social movements, trade unions
and political organizations attended. ---- In periods of election, time of uncertainty and
insecurity of the population, the opportunistic political parties always try to take
advantage of the claims and the organization of grassroots movements to promote
themselves. Many flags of parties and candidates were present, seeking once again, a
"slice of the pie parliament." But that has not dimmed the highlight were the social
movements and struggles of people organized autonomously.
This year's "Scream" featured a large mobilization of social movements. It brought
together, shoulder to shoulder, the Movement of Unemployed Workers' For Base "(MTD For
Base! - RJ), the Popular Organization, the musical block Giving crosses himself, the
Popular Movement Communities (MCP), the Internationalist Front Homeless (FIST), among
other groups and partners. All showing the value of the struggle, and the mobilization of
claim popular elements essential in achieving our needs. The proposal of the Other
Campaign was also unveiled during the event with flyers, justifying our strategy of
struggle for organization and mobilization for permanent bases in social movements and
workers, without tying the parties, governments, companies or electoral calendars.
Disclose also the newspaper Libertarian Socialism , the Brazilian Anarchist Coordination
(we integrate) and our journal, LIBERAL.
The organization and the articulation between social movements, especially in such an act,
makes us believe increasingly that the struggle of the people must be held by himself and
did not need so-called "enlightened" to represent us. Strength and hope this form of
struggle, we workers have left!
OUR DREAMS do not fit into urns!!
