70th Congress of the Anarchist Federation
From 26 to 28 May 2012 was held on 70 th Congress of the Anarchist Federation. These
three days of meetings are important to us, activists of the Anarchist Federation, not
only because they allow us to take stock of the past year our organization (reports of the
various secretariats and administrators), but also, and importantly, these days are a time
of discussion, debate and reflection on our roots in the struggles and our federal
perspectives.
Our first congress approached the social situation in France and outside the borders.
Were discussed and analyzed the revolutions in the Middle East, in so-called "Arab" and
the brand new spring maple our cousins ââin Quebec or the "crisis" Greek or Spanish, the
return of "socialist" to business, etc.. There was talk also of many micro-social and
economic alternatives where the libertarians, with others, try self tests (AMAP,
cooperative, school ...).
Fruitful discussions and experiences to enrich it still remains, for activism, to
popularize, develop and perhaps eventually to generalize.
Then our conference was the opportunity to work in committees where decision- speech is
easier than in plenary. We conducted this year reflections around three themes.
A first commission was held on the emergence of new forms of protest and social struggles,
such as the movement of Indignant, the Occupy or of collective struggles (undocumented ,
requisitions housing, antirÃpression, struggles against the major work useless - type
No-TAV -, antinuclear, anonymous ...) which are often rich, but often even without much
connection to conventional union struggles and sometimes too rooted in battles sectoral or
corporate. Hence the building over time, convergence between these different sectors of
the challenge to the capitalist order.
To cope with this? We thought it was necessary, even important, we continue to enroll in
these movements, to take our place as anarchists and to hold the role we can play as
qu'aiguillon, without attempting to retrieve and transparently, in order to achieve
convergence of all these struggles from the perspective of a social revolution and
emancipation not only in the context of a development illusion of capitalist society.
A second commission approached the need to organize internal coordination of
anarcho-syndicalist and anarchist trade unionists of the Anarchist Federation, in
conjunction with other initiatives of this type, to produce all the analyzes, to organize
joint activities and share our practices, regardless of our union affiliation (CNT, SOUTH,
CGT, FSU, CGT-FO). This debate has led us to the realization that our role, as anarchists,
was essential to stimulate and trigger conflicts of direct confrontation, to ensure that
the struggles businesses are owned and managed directly by employees without party
political recovery. But there also appear clearly as anarchists in order to be able to
ensure compliance with the "direct democracy" and to work towards the realization of the
usefulness of a global struggle, interprofessional and self-managed to destroy the system
of capitalist exploitation. It is in this sense that work during the coming year, the
coordination of trade union activists of the Federation.
A third committee leaned on ways and means of propaganda of the Anarchist Federation. She
was interested as much as the content of media messages for broadcast. Were discussed and
the fate and shape of the World libertarian and libertarian Radio, the use of social
networks or YouTube. There was also a question of the nature of the messages trying to
determine if they were to remain global and general (self) or if they were to come as
close to more limited and immediate interest (free transport) . The two options were
chosen depending on the circumstances, as for principles, not as contradictory.
Finally, the 70 th Congress of the Anarchist Federation approached the holding of two
meetings are essential to life and development of the movement and libertarian ideas.
First International Meeting of the anarchism of St. Imier (Switzerland) to be held in
early August 2012. Delegates leaned on both the financial and material organization of the
event (several thousand people are expected) and on its political and cultural (
www.anarchisme2012.ch ) and gave them an appointment. Visit all the more important that,
in the same place and the same dates, will be held the Congress of the International
Anarchist Federations (IFA), the Anarchist Federation intends to resume the secretariat.
In short, despite successful conferences some controversy inevitable and often useful in
these circumstances, the confrontation of ideas to almost always exceed the initial ideas
put forward and promote consensus. The 71 th a meeting, that of 2013, which will probably
take place in Marseille, will be that of sixty years of the Anarchist Federation and the
opportunity to analyze the new opportunities opening up in the libertarian movement at
both the hex that International. Fifi Secretary General Hugh Lenoir former Secretary
General 1 . Sixty years and 71 th Congress, this is due to hold a convention in
extraordinary circumstances such as the decision in the mid-1970s, transforming The World
libertarian monthly or weekly, in late 2011, launched a Libertarian World Free
