Dear People, I am especially concerned to get hold of people who have non- violent direct action experience.

I don't know if it's possible for anyone from with that experience to take an Austraslian Kakadu holiday round about April/march 1998, but if it was, this would be most advantageous.

Thanks, John hallam. foesydney@peg.apc.org

Dear people, Preparations for a blockade at Jabiluka are progressing. We now have a 'blockade wish list', and some ides how to proceed with it. This includes everything fromn pots and pans to satellite phones.

In particular however, the blockade is looking for people with previous NVDA experience, either in Australia, or elsewhere - for example, at Temelin, at Gorleben, at the US subcritical test site, etc.

Most specifically, we are interested in people who have experience in blockading roads in remote areas with hot climates (preferably desert or jungle). However, any prolonged blockading experience will do!

If you have had experience, especially organising experence, in any prolonged non- violent blockade action, the Jabiluka blockade needs you!

If you are from Europe (eastern or western) and have participated, especially at an organisational level, in Gorleben or Temelin blockades, or from Japan and have experience in blockading nuclear power plants, we need you!

If you have participated in blocades in the US or Canada, we need you!

1)Worst case scenario: --Legal or other political options fail to delay the project. --ERA can commence construction as soon as the rainy season in the NT eases up, which could be feb/march/april.

Best case --Either legal options invalidate the lease or there is need for a new EIS, which could delay things for months. --This may mean that we don't start the blockade till late '98. From Nov to march, there will again be rain.
