Tuesday, November 25th 9am (SHARP!) Goddess of Democracy Statue (at the bus loop outside the Student Union Building) the University of British Columbia

This Tuesday, as the APEC Leader's Summit moves to UBC, members of the East Timor Alert Network (ETAN), will symbolically try to arrest General Suharto, President of Indonesia, for crimes against humanity. ETAN holds Suharto responsible for the illegal invasion, occupation and genocide in East Timor, as well as massive abuses of human rights in Indonesia and West Papua.

ETAN members will be gathering at the Goddess of Democracy Statue on the UBC campus at 9am (sharp), from which they will march to the summit site at the Museum of Anthropology to arrest Suharto. The arrest action will be peaceful and non-violent. Members of ETAN who will make the actual arrest will be designated beforehand. However, we need many supporters onhand to show the world that Suharto is not welcome in Vancouver and should be arrested on the charge of crimes against humanity according to Canada's own Criminal Code. Join us and help bring Suharto to justice.
