Hi comrades. As we do every year, we demonstrate in Israel, against the kidnaping of Mordechay Vanunu - the Israeli "whistle blower". Mordechay revealed facts about the Israeli Atom bombs arsenal. In retaliation, he was kidnaped from Italy and sentenced for 18 years in prison. This year, as avery year, comrades all over the world are initiating various activities and demonstrations to support him and his act. This year, as a year ago, an international group came to Israel for a week of activity in this case.. We join forces on Saturday morning to demonstrate against the Israeli atom bomb and the detention of Mordechay (who is already 11 years in solitary detention).

Following is a demonstration alert of one of many activities of the international struggle to free Vanunu.

Demonstration alert!

Free Mordechai Vanunu.

In 1985, Vanunu, a technician at Israel's Dimona Nuclear reactor in the Negev desert, leaked photographs to the London Sunday Times of Israel's top-secret nuclear weapons program.

For that, he was kidnapped from abroad by Mossad secret service spies, in contravention of international law, and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment in solitary confinement for treason.

September 30 marks the date in 1986 that Vanunu was drugged by Mossad agents in Rome and spirited away for trial in Israel. There are demonstrations every year at this time; no doubt there will be events around the world.

In Toronto, Canada, a demonstration has been set for TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 12 NOON to 1 PM. in front of the Israeli consulate at 180 Bloor Street West (just west of Avenue Road), on the north side.

Co-sponsored by ACT for Disarmament; the Oakville Community Center for peace, ecology and human rights; Voice of Women, Science for Peace, and Peace Magazine.

CIUT, a Toronto community radio station at 89.5 on the FM band, will address Vanunu's situation the same day, Tuesday, Sept. 30, sometime between 9 am and 10:30 am on the show Caffeine Free. So we recommend tuning into the show, first, then going to the demonstration.

Vanunu has spent 4,017 days (or 96,408 hours) in solitary confinement.

We hope you will dedicate one hour to express your solidarity.
