ATLANTIC ANARCHIST CIRCLE REGIONAL ANARCHIST ORGANIZING CONFERENCE AND GATHERING AUGUST 8-10, 1997 AT THE FACILITIES OF THE INSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL ECOLOGY MAPLE HILL, TOWN OF MARSH FIELD, VERMONT

The Atlantic Anarchist Circle is hosting a conference to inaugurate a network of anarchists and anarchist groups throughout the northeast. The agenda is now being planned. we are currently asking for workshop poropsals from those interested in organizing our region to better respond to the challenges today's anarchist movement faces.

General Agenda Issues: - long-term/short-term goals of the AAC - AAC's role in regional communication and support work - skill sharing: learning from current efforts our region and beyond - bulding our ranks: how established local groups help each other and encourage new projects to begin - plugging in to working groups: speaker's bureau, newsletter, finance, listserve

Schedule: - Friday: 6:00pm dinner 7:00pm a series of presentations will be delivered on various topics. those who wish to speak should contact Lori Hidano at lsh21@columbia.edu or (718)499-7672. Proposed talks should be 15 minutes or less.

Saturday: 9:00am breakfast 10:00-10:30am conference resumes with brief discussion of agenda items and schedule for the rest of the day 10:30-1:00pm initial discission on strategy, tactics and goals 1:00pm lunch 2:00pm conference resumes with discussion on utilizing ideas from the morning session to the AAC 6:00pm dinner 7:00pm open 9:00pm socializing

Sunday: 8:30am breakfast 9:00-11:30 am closing session

The conference ends with ample time to go to Bread and Puppet in nearby Glover, VT. To reserve your spot, please respond to the following by July 25, 1997.

We can provide loging on a first come basis. When space has run out, we will contact you to find out if you want us to find alternate loging. We ask that you contact us about your placs to attend as soon as possible. Directions will be sent out shortly- roughly 1 week before the gathering. if you would like to propose someting for the agenda, please inform us, and we will include it. OPTIONS: - free loging, for those who really need it, meals not included - camping or loging-please specify your first choice $25.00/night-all meals included - $5.00/meal-specify the number of meals you will need - coming but don't need anything - want to talk on Friday night - specific agenda item you want discussed
