VIOLENT END TO THE OCCUPIED CINEMA IN BARCELONA

For a week now we have been in a state of alert flying in a space where
utopia had become a reality. We left the street barricades and took off our
street gear as a sign of good faith, we opened up lines of commmunication
with the proprietors and the various institutions, we got our message out to
the whole city... just so as to find a solution which would not involve
repression. WHAT WAS THE POINT?

There wasn't one. Today, Monday, at 5.45 in the morning 200 riot police
began to evict the occupants from the building firing rubber bullets from
the street and the roofs of surrounding buildings (after gaining illegal
access) terrorising the neighbourhood in the process. Same for those in the
street many of whom, including journalists, were rounded up so that there
would be no witnesses. They took three hours. The outcome is 48 arrests and
25 injured. This is the language of power.
