Update to El Acratador #48 (November 95)

ZARAGOZA

The antifascist mobilizations called for November 20th couldn't have started
in a more eventful fashion in our city: 5 arrests, several wounded and a
nazi attack.
On friday November 17th there was a concert at El Arrebato with several
alternative bands from Zaragoza. There was massive attendance, filling the
hall to the top. Acid Droop, ACME, Faccion Social and Fuerza Para Vivir are
the bands that played.
The vermouth called by P.A.Z. at the C.S.A. Angel Chueca the following day
happened normally and peacefully.

But things changed that very same afternoon: Around 17.30 hrs and during the
celebration of the antifascist coffee at the Bar Beirut, to prevent a new
attack from the nazi Ligallo Fondo Norte, several members of Pena Ultra
anti-riots broke into the bar with the excuse of a call about a fight at the
bar. The police tried to take a person that was inside the bar and when he
refused to be stripped and searched he was savagely beaten. At that moment
the people in the bar reacted and there was a strong struggle, during which
more anti-riots came and the antifascists found three guns pointed at them
from a short distance, indiscriminate beatings the like of which hadn't
been seen in many years and a weapon that rolled on the floor, with the risk
this entails.
Four people had to go to the hospital, although more than this were wounded
and four cops also went to the hospital to obtain generous medical reports
of injuries to justify their performance, as is usual when there are violent
incidents. Five people were arrested at random from among the few
antifascists that had not dispersed, including the young man beaten at the
beginning.

Quickly the security measures were put in motion and continued watching over
the alternative places. Radio Topo broadcast information every five minutes
till late in the night and charges against the performance of the police
were prepared. At the police station, the arrestees suffered more beatings,
ill treatment, in addition to insults and threats. The following day, around
17.00 hrs. they were set free, although they face a charge of assault. The
press, as usual, manipulated the information, particularly El Periodico de
Aragon that gave an extremely exaggerated police version and the eternal
bore of the urban tribes, with the evil punkies that attacked the poor
anti-riots with iron bars.

These events can only be interpreted as a true raid against the antifascist
movement and P.A.Z. The raid has otherwise no justification and took the
form of a provocation by the police to justify the excessive diplay around
the antifas. Meanwhile the nazis continue acting up ...

The night of November 18th a young antifascist, member of Ateneo Libertario,
was stalked by at least 20 nazis as he left his workplace. The nazis beat
him although, fortunately, he was able to get refuge in a bar whose
clientele helped him, succedding in throwing out the nazis who tried to
enter to finish their brutal work. The victim went to the hospital and
luckily his wounds didn't require hospitalization. The victim has already
filed charges.
Today, November 20th, there has been a trial with a double accusation
against an antifascist militant and his attacker, the well known nazi Oscar
Solsona Sanchez. The trial happenned without the presence of Solsona or his
lawyer, with the D. A. petitioning for 10 days in jail and 30,000 ptas.
fine for the nazi madman. Several antifascists came to the trial to
solidarize with their comrade.

Nazi attacks in Madrid

The week before November 20th there were three serious attacks in Madrid
province: In Alcala de Henares a molotov cocktail was thrown against a
middle school whose director, militant of I.U. was threatened with death by
a nazi group from Bases Autonomas formed by students from the school.

In Aranjuez a homeless person suffered both legs broken when a 25 Kg. cement
block was dropped on him as he slept against a wall. A few days later, in
the same city, three andalucian youth were savagely attacked by a group of
seven nazis. The three victims, among them a pregnant woman, were seriously
injured.

MADRID

On November 15th, antifascist militant Santi Botana was seriously injured
consequence of a big explosion that occurred in his home. As a result of the
explosion he lost several fingers and remains hospitalized in critical
condition with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. After the explosion Inmaculada, his
roommate, that happened to be at the house was arrested. In successive days
two other antifa militants were arrested. As this information goes to press
they await giving declarations in the National Court, on November 20th
around 11 hrs. and it is expected that they'll try to pin a terrorist charge
on them and give them a hard sentence. A gathering in front of the National
Court is planned for the same time in solidarity with the accused. The
reactions from the press and the state have been the usual ones, with talk
of "squatters and marginal groups" and sent the alarm about "violent
antifascists", forgetting the numerous deaths that the fascists have caused
in recent years in the Spanish State. Before this we can only ask:
Who are the violent ones?

FREE THE ANTIFASCIST PRISONERS !!!

DEMONSTRATIONS

We now have info on the several demonstrations celebrated up to now. In
Madrid, called by the libertarian, autonomous and antifascist collectives
from the city, a demonstration had more people than ever, in spite of the
much-critiziced withdrawl of Solidaridad Obrera syndicate and pressure from
the press and the police. At least 4000 people gathered and created a good
atmosphere of struggle and demands. There were no serious incidents. The
nazis tried to attack a Social Center in Villaverde, the enclave of the CNT
in El Rastro and a bar in Malasan~a. In all cases the security measures
worked to perfection and the nazis were chased off. In the leftist enclaves
(Lavapies, Estrecho ...) were detected several nazi "spies" who, when faced
with the awesome presence of the antifacists didn't dare to attack.

In Valladolid at least 2000 people and in Vigo 300 celebrated antifascist
and antiracist demonstrations. We've also heard of acts in Logron~o,
Catalunya and other cities, but we don't know the numbers. Due to the rush
to get this published, we'll provide more information in the 49th issue of
El Acratador.
