(en) Anarchist Collective Black Flag: FAU-FAR-FDCA-CAB-EMBAT-OSL | Declaration of support for the French people by CABN (ca, it, pt) [machine translation]

France is going through very important fighting hours. The French people have risen, like so many other times in recent times, to put a stop to the neoliberal advance. Now, an unprecedented move, such as the "yellow jackets," which emerged in response to rising fuel and its impact on rural and outlying cities, mobilized hundreds of thousands of people a month ago, blocking routes and developing action across the country. The summons and the most visible demonstrations were growing in Paris on Saturdays, affecting the tourist circuits, and registering a great number of clashes with the police. ---- It is that the repression was the only answer of the Macron government. Elected by many citizens as a "minor evil" before the advance of the National Front of Marine Le Pen, it is the direct representative of the great financial capital; more than that, Macron himself belongs directly to this circuit. And once perched on the government, it launched a new wave of neoliberal advancement with privatizations , lowering of duties and tax increases for the low but with an exponential increase in the profits of the rich.

This movement is an expression of the anger and malaise felt by the population in the face of the disruption of health and education systems, social and municipal services, factory closures, unemployment and crisis, while the transnational capital rages with all its voracity and is appropriating everything that is of use and social benefit.

At first, the main French trade union federation - CGT - and Mélenchon's "France Insubmissa" party saw the movement with some trepidation, while the far right led by Le Pen tried to capitalize on it. With the active participation of the LDS unions and several combative sections of the CGT and other trade union centrals, along with the irruption of the student struggle, the movement gained a clear popular and critical dimension of government and crucial aspects of the system. The demands made on mobilizations and on the platform of struggle have broadened to include heavily tax increases on wealth, industrial promotion policies, and employment generation and wealth distribution.

This changed the attitude of the CGT, which, together with the other trade union centrals, called for a general strike on 14 December. For his part, Ménenchon is worried to get votes for these mobilizations to his party in the next elections, and his proposal is to lower the decibels of the fight and to channel it through institutional routes. But this does not seem easy, because the movement has multiple spokesmen and various nuances that enrich it, and this is precisely what happens in the various pickets and demonstrations.

But this clearly popular movement has massified and sustained an important level of mobilization, infecting other regions of Europe such as Belgium, but with possibilities of extending this rebellion to other parts of the continent, and perhaps beyond. It draws attention to its extension throughout the French territory, in the road rings and in the intersections, where really the people occupy the public space and take control of the circulation. In this union of a new movement with the syndical, student and popular movement in general, there is a solid base for the construction of a popular alternative, articulating diverse social actors from below, as we say, for the construction of a Front of Forward Oppressed Classes in the construction and development of Popular Power.

The repression caused a death in Marseille, thousands are detained, wounded and have suffered the consequences of repression. We demand the end of repressive politics and the freedom for all the imprisoned comrades, and that the popular demands be met.

It should be made clear that repressive policy exists throughout Europe; adjustment, austerity and repression is the triad that the governments of the European Union apply to their populations. We have already seen the case of Greece. The migration policy, with a strong racist character, is in sight. Just in Greece, on December 18, Lola Gutiérrez was sentenced to 17 months - even without imprisonment - for helping an 18-year-old Kurdish youth reunite with her family, entering Europe. This is "Europe Fortress", Europe that punishes solidarity.

The French people are giving an exemplary lesson. Our partners and companions of the Alternative Liberation and CGA - who undergo a process of union of the organizations - are inserted in all mobilizations and popular organizations, with a good level of participation and organizational incidence, practicing a methodology of direct action, forging the protagonism of the people and driving self-management. To organized anarchism there is much to say and to contribute in a conjuncture like the one that lives France.

All our support for our brothers and sisters from both organizations, and the French people, who once again offer the people of the world an experience of struggle, which is already a patrimony of the history of and of the lower.

LIVE THE FIGHT OF THE FRENCH PEOPLE!

FORTHE CONSTRUCTION OF PEOPLE'S POWER!

LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS!
