AFA STOCKHOLM DOES NOT COOPERATE WITH THE POLICE!

After the mass arrests at a nazi concert in Brottby, north of Stockholm, 
on the 3rd of January, 1998, the Stockholms Police have stated in the 
media that one of the reasons they were able to execute this politically 
motivated and ordered operation was that AntiFastick Aktion had earlier 
promised them not to attack the nazis. AFA-STHLM want to make it 
absolutly clear that we do not cooperate with the police! The police are 
both physical as well as ideological opponents in our struggle for a 
society free from oppression. The alluded to "discussion" was no 
discussion but in fact nothing more than a short telephone call between 
AFA and the police commander incharge.The police explained what they 
were planning and AFA-STHLM promised absolutly nothing.
We refuse to play a part in the police propoganda machine where they 
attempt to paint the picture that AFA is the reason that they have not 
previously acted against nazi concerts on other occassions. A perfect 
exempel of this, amongst many others, is the nazi concert held in the 
ABF building the 29th of November, 1997 where the same type of nazi 
concert and nazi activities occured. At that time not a single 
anti-fascist was in the area and despite documentation of criminal 
activity the police, in keeping with their policy, did not act. 
AFA-STHLM counters with the argument that it is, instead, our activities 
which have brought about the political pressure upon the police which 
forced the operation January 3rd. We approve of the fact that the police 
have begun treating the crime of "Threats against Ethnic groups" as a 
crime. However, that the police have begun to act with the support of 
laws which allow mass arrests is something which we view as a serious 
increase of the states repressive powers. This increase will surely 
affect us and is something which we will also fight.
