Minsk seemed very pleasant. Very few cars and nice people,
no capitalist hype, just useful products in the shops.
Some giant sport buildings remind me of soviet science fiction
by Strugacki bros.

On the meeting were about 10 people from Moscow, Stas Pochybut
from Grodno "Deaf and Mute Traitors of Fatherland", Yura from
Gomel, Henri, and 5 people from Poland.
We agreed there will be an anti-nuclear march in August in
Mogilev district, and that Pavluk from Minsk will be
sending info (his e-mail is gauche@writeme.com )
if somebody is jailed in Belarus, so that we can do soli-demos.

I will press on
them to send info about their activity (there is some
propaganda work among trade-unions in Gomel, and
activisation of the punk movement in Grodno).

>From Poland, we'll try to squeeze money out of foundations
for projects in Belarus.

The demonstration on Saturday "Chernobyl Path"
was quiet (it's been legalised).
About 7.000 people, we participated with a banner
"No power for nobody" made in Moscow, and anarchist flags.
It's nice people knew about anarchism, and recognised who
we were.

17 people from Moscow anti-fascist youth were arrested be
undercover agents after the demo and beaten, (a "trick" with
a gas-mask was used by the police on a kid - they put it
on his face and cut the entrance of air - this was also
used on another occasion on Russian anarchists after
an anti-nuke demo, but with tear-gas sprayed into the gas-mask)
According to newspapers, these people were released
the next day and deported to Russia.

We avoided trouble by getting out of the demo by groups
of 2 in separate directions (the city was full of police
at every corner.)

ANARCHIA, SVABODA!!! DAUOJ LUKU URODA!!!
(in Belarussian: @, freedom! down with Luka the monster!)
