(en) Turkey, May Day Call of Revolutionary Anarchist Action DAF

Date Mon, 05 May 2014 09:34:23 +0300

Turkish state, once again closed Taksim Square for the millions on 1st of May which he used to ''open'' couple of years ago. He attacked with his baton, water cannons, tear gas bombs, plastic bullets to the people who wanted to be in Taksim Square on the 1st of May for their slained brothers and sisters. He injured and took many workers, revolutionists, oppressed onesinto custody;he didn't allow ambulances to enter for the woundeds... Last year turkish state attacked to the resistants as he did in the previous forbidden 1st of May's. But what happened that day didn't discouraged the resistants, conversely the anger of the 1st of May fired a revolt. ---- Days after the 1st of May, the roads which lead to Taksim were shut down by the police for the second time. The government wanted to shut down Taksim to the resistants who fight against state terror, police brutality, capitalist exploitation; who stand up for their lives, for freedom. But he couldn't succeed this time; the anger which began with the 1st of May grew larger and larger on 31st of May, and turned into a rebellion with hundreds of thousands of people filling up the streets. Even with the same brutality, with hours of clashes the police couldn't succeed; he couldn't close the streets or Taksim to resistants. On that day, it was called account for the forbidden 1st of May's, for the slained workers of '77, for the revolutionist we've lost during all these years, for poverty, for injustice...

With this soul of revolt, workers increased their combat against carrying out subcontracting work, against bosses, against work murders, against capitalism. They organized strikes and occupations against bosses who stole their bread , against capitalism who stole their lives. They occupied their factories and created their own producing areas, they trusted self-organizations, not syndicates. With the soul of revolt they took direct action, they grew the struggle day by day.

On these days, like each year, state says it forbidded Taksim Square, closed it to workers by making up many excuses, he offers different locations for the 1st of May, he tries to isolate Taksim from the anger of the 1st of May. But he forgets something, the oppressed ones which he didn't count until this day, are winning with their own organizations.

As always, we will be in Taksim on the 1st of May this year. Despite the police barricades, police brutality, state pressure we will fight and won't back out from Taksim. Centuries before these days, with the faith on our comrades who were killed in 1886, we will be on the streets with anger of knowing that there are still workers and oppressed ones are being killed.

We will burn the fire of revolt with Mehmet, Ali Äsmail, Abdullah, Hasan Ferit, Ahmet, Medeni, Ethem and Berkin this year. We know that starting a revolt is winning the revolt! To Taksim on the 1st of May to win! To Anarchist Revolution With Action!
