(en) France, Alternative libertaeir December - Open letter to outgoing network of anti-nuclear (fr) [machine translation]

Date Wed, 21 Dec 2011 12:25:30 +0200

Face negotiations between the Socialist Party and the Greens-Europeécologie, Libertarian Alternative and many other signatories have decided to send an open letter to outgoing network to denounce the nuclear consequences of such an agreement. ---- Budget (s) friend (s) and friends, ---- We are concerned to see what the priorities of anti-nuclear activities of the Nuclear Exit Network for several weeks. ---- Indeed, the only scale mobilizations since Fukushima, namely the events of October 15, were not initiated by the network but by regional coordination which the Network has provided support that could have been more assertive. ---- By cons, for several days, we are inundated with emails to challenge the Socialist Party (PS) and the Greens-European ecology (EELV), EELV in fact to support in its negotiations with the PS about the objectives of nuclear power.

The conclusion of this agreement shows that the nuclear issue was actually not that important for the negotiators. However, on the inner workings and direction of the network, that is not the most important. What is indeed more problematic is to believe on the one hand, or to suggest that a campaign e-mails may be sufficient to influence the pro-nuclear of the Socialist Party.

Certainly we can agree with the analysis that is made by the Network of the Agreement PS-EELV. Setbacks setbacks in - first out of nuclear energy and stopping the EPR and a lack of clarity around the Mox - green negotiators allowed themselves to be bogged down in a logical compromise that turns its back on the decision of nuclear power.

More importantly, in terms of operation of the Network, the campaign of questioning conducted before the agreement turns its back on internal pluralism. This pluralism is of course one of its member associations, but also the political organizations that participate in its activities. By becoming the voice of EELV in these negotiations, the network breaks with this pluralism, indicating that the political struggles led anti-nuclear is only in EELV, and therefore in agreement with the PS. What's next? A call to vote Eva Joly in the presidential election because a high score of the candidate will press the PS? This would make sense with what has been done, but would be a ground breaking policies with the other components of the network.

We invite the directors of the Network Exit to return to this nuclear strategy, subject to negotiations between political parties and become the heart of dynamic pulse of the struggles and anti-nuclear, civil and military.
