Do you think that a media that is owned by various corporations will have it in their best 
interest to report the news truthfully and accurately? The stories in the current media 
environment are plagued by a limited range of opinions and ideas. The media keeps the 
focus off of topics that would be important to you and me; stories concerning the economic 
crisis, race relations, police repression etc... This range is kept, intentionally or 
unintentionally, to keep you the reader believing that things are fine, that things are 
getting better again, and that everything is under control and there is nothing you can do 
about it.  This limited scope is what this publication wishes to fight against. An open 
discourse is desperately needed; this discourse needs to take a form that will include 
race, class, and gender and show how these ideas interact with the events of the day to day.

We wish to see a
media that attempts to inform the
public of the major issues that
affect them every day. By
"inform" we do not just mean the
feeding of the "facts" to our
readers. The facts alone do not
give you a concept of why some
thing happens. In order to do this
you need an analysis of those
facts. It is in this analysis that this
publication will differ from tha
of the mainstream media. The
media completely supports the
current system we live in. This
system of capitalism is one tha
exploits the many at the hands of
the few. It supports the racist
patriarchal, and classist systems
that separate individuals. I
places white over black, man
over woman, boss over worker
administration over student, and
landlord over tenant. The media
is tool of this structure and its
misinformation is something we
must overcome. So you might ask, why anar
chist media? The answer is tha
we need to be able to free our
selves from the hands of those
that control the corporate media
Why not a liberal media? The
liberal media and the conserva
tive media both only have the
survival of capitalism in mind
Liberal and Conservative, in our
day and age, are not as differen
as they would have you believe
They are two sides of the same
coin and without a doubt suppor
the hierarchical system of the
State, the pawn of global capital
ism.  This publication will no
patronize our readers. In good
faith, we will put forward our
ideas and stories that will allow
you to form an opinion based on
your own intelligence. We need
an independent media source that
will do just that and we will open
the discourse of race, class, and
gender. We will provide informa
tion without the corporate skew.
We will show that we, as individ
uals, can form a more just and
free society. We will provide you
with a period of Free Times.
