(en) Britain, Anarchist Class War blog http://classwar-uk.blogspot.com/ - Solidarity with SMASH the EDO

Date Fri, 11 Jun 2010 07:52:11 +0300

Toff Boy Cameron made a heartfelt speech last week when Israel launched yet another war on innocent people. To the disgrace of Joe Public, the European Union and all those who feel they have a penny to spend, Israel continues on their murderous mission. ---- Yes, Our leaders are making speeches. What they do not tell us or own up to is that we, the British people, are complacent in these attacks by hosting the company that provide Israel with the tools they need to commit these atrocities. ---- But why would they, this is generating income for Brittain and the Capitalists bastards that invest in innocent deaths. ---- EDO MBM/ITT supply components to the Israeli army (amongst others), including release mechanisms and bomb racks for use in fighter aircraft. They have also been involved in the design and manufacture of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which were used extensively in reconnaissance and bombing missions against civilians.

The six people who took part in the action are on trial for conspiracy to commit criminal damage. They are arguing that they had lawful excuse to disarm the factory because EDO are complicit in war crimes.

Excerpt from a Statement recorded by Elijah Smith, one of the decommissioners, before breaking in to the factory:

"I don't feel I'm going to do anything illegal tonight, but I'm going to go into an arms factory and smash it up to the best of my ability so that it cannot actually produce munitions and these very dirty bombs that have been provided to the Israeli army so that they can kill children. The time for talking has gone too far. I'm not a writer, I'm just a person from the community and I'm deeply disgusted.”

Their trial is scheduled to start on 7th June 2010. It may last for up to ten weeks. The trial takes place at Hove Crown Court, and will last for approx 7 weeks. There is a solidarity picket of the court from 9 am on 7 June.
