A-Infos (en) Britain, Whitechapel Anarchist Group: Fred ‘scumbag’ Goodwin’s bad day + WAG #1 and #2

The mainstream press are inventing more and more ridiculous lies about the up and coming 
protests (apparently anyone seen wearing a tie will be stripped, nailed to a crucifix and 
forced to read one of Tony Cliffs pamphlets) so it’s a relief to read some good news with 
Sir Fred scumbag Goodwin\’s home being attacked, the bad news is that he wasn’t at home 
when it happened.

Fred Goodwin, the former chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland has recently 
refused to give back any of his sixteen million pound pension pot despite the Prime 
Minster asking him really nicely too.

I think it’s only fair that we thank the kind hearted stone throwers’ who smashed his 
windows and damaged his car, not only does it warn other bankers off nicking our money but 
it also creates a little bit of employment for window replacement firms and mechanics.

The yuppie Fred ‘scumbag’ Goodwin sadly ran away in distress (possibly to Spain) leaving 
only the remarks of the supposed vandals behind.

“We are angry that rich people, like him, are paying themselves a huge amount of money, 
and living in luxury, while ordinary people are made unemployed, destitute and homeless. 
This is a crime. Bank bosses should be jailed. This is just the beginning.”

Good work brothers and sisters, the Whitechapel Anarchist Group expresses solidarity with 
your words and your actions.

On Sunday 15th March Whitechapel Anarchists were present in our usual spots on Brick lane 
handing out the last few copies of W.A.G Issue Two and the excellent “Storm The Banks” 
Posters / Freesheet.  They were warmly welcomed as 1,400 copies flew out with coffee shops 
displaying them (And giving us all free coffees - Thank you), the “illegal” market traders 
also proudly stuck them up, residents of the east end shared mutual stories of 
unemployment, pensions and current hard times that we are all facing, and one particular 
market trader screamed “Bash A Banker” for a good few hours!

It looks like quite a few people will be out on the streets during the Spring Offensive…

As well as the “Storm The Banks” Posters / Freesheet there are also some brilliant “We Are 
Your Crisis” flyers and posters produced available from Freedom Bookshop.

Free Sheet Issue 1 Available December 7th!!

Hitting the streets of Whitechapel from December 7th onwards!! Our first issue will be 
launched at 11am on Bricklane, the Bethnal Green Road end, with our very own stall! It is 
A3 in size, or one big sheet of A2 folded to be more precise, printed in Black and White 
on recycled paper by our local printers Aldgate Press.

Front Cover:

Middle pages include articles on rising food prices/price reduction scheme, 
housing/squatting in local area, police bullying of “illegal” market traders, the banality 
of signing on and it’s media generated stigma, BNP watch keeping an eye on the local 
fascists, credit crunch/canceling of christmas, repression of anti-fur campaign on the 
lane, a little bit of local history on the food riots of 1768, the forthcoming Olympics 
and the general  increase of gentrification we experience in Whitechapel on a day to day 
basis.

The Back Page includes the film listings for our Sunday Cinema Cafe as well as our Radical 
History Pub Crawl happening on Saturday 31st January at 5pm. Beginning in Bethnal Green, 
join us for the experience of retracing the local history from the Krays, fighting 
fascists, Jack the Ripper, Siege of Sidney Street, Itchycoo park to the Jubilee Street 
Club, and support traditional local boozers!!

The Free Sheet will also be available from L.A.R.C (London Action Resource Centre), 62 
Fieldgate Street Whitechapel E1 1ES, and Freedom Press Bookshop, 84b Angel Alley 
Whitechapel - which has also recently just moved downstairs so check it out!!

We will  be on Bricklane every Sunday handing it out, roughly at the Bethnal Green Road 
end, and it will be launched SUNDAY 7TH DECEMBER with our own stall from 11am. So come 
down for the launch. Also on the 7th we will be showing a double bill of films, a local 
special with “The Siege Of Sidney Street” and “The Elephant Man” from 2pm onwards at L.A.R.C.

is slightly out of our hands, but if you would like hard copies of the new Free Sheet then

WAG Free Sheet Issue Two available Sunday 15th February

On the cold, rainy evening of thursday 5th, members of the Whitechapel Anarchist Group 
gathered with photos, images, half written articles, outrageous ideas, curry etc and put 
together Issue 2 of our free sheet in one evening. An exhilarating and creative process 
where articles were written on the spot and the A2 paper was completed and dropped off to 
the printers the next morning.

The new WAG free sheet will be launched in Brick Lane on Sunday 15th February from 12pm 
till 2pm. You will find us in our usual spots spreading from the bottom of Brick Lane by 
Bethnal Green Road, outside the Beigel Shop, up to Fleur-De-Lis street amongst the market. 
See you on Sunday.

Copies will also be available from Freedom Bookshop and the London Action Resource Centre 
from Thursday 12th February.

Articles include everything from binge drinking, snow wars, gaza, x-factor, police 
intimidation, housing, brick lane market to the credit crunch.
