(en) Bolivia, "Striking Democracy" - Statement by O.A.R.S. - Anarchist Organization for Socialal Revolution on Evo Morales and his election victory (ca) [machine translation\

The electoral victory of Evo Morales and the Movimiento al Socialismo, with 63% of rating,
just shows the total defeat of the popular revolutionary upheaval that occurred in 2003.
In other words it only shows the defeat of the Bolivian popular movement. In brief, we are
for new reformism and 5 years of conformity, which will come ... O.A.R.S., La Paz, Bolivia
Striking Democracy ---- 63% to 23% would seem a simple and sad figure reflects the
flattening of a force that emerges and the other shrinks to the point that disappears.
That is the political landscape of Bolivia, with Evo Morales and his entire party
structure ready to seize power for 5 years, govern the Senate in its power and all the new
Assembly Multicountry in his favor.
On the other hand, the losers, a right that governed since the establishment of democracy,
is cornered with no chance to regain power in the way he likes, the polls. It is so
depressed and split that has not been able to construct a clear political project.
Historically, the right has been split strategy of going to the polls and at some point
unite and seize power, but right now the factions are so small that together, barely half
of what he achieved Morales.
A people's victory, shouting, gifted and lucid intellectuals of the revolutionary left.
Interesting point of view, considering that the Bolivian people is not a mass unconscious
that their leadership has been needed to generate revolutionary changes and whose
interests go far beyond the election of a president, "the people".
The fact that electoral victory is complex but shows a concrete reality, Bolivia giant
steps backward in their social demands and implicit in his revolution, which was one of
the leaders of America. The 63% does not show the proper management of a government, nor
the leadership of President Morales, shows the institutionalization of social sectors
under the aegis of the State, not doubt themselves, continuing its colonial and repressive
structure. The historic Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) is now part of government scheme
with a leadership that does not claim any of the demands of work and fighting for jobs in
the style of a union yellow. Another example, the Federation of Neighborhood High
(FEJUVE), now lies in the internal organization of the MAS to nominate their candidates
for councilors and deputies. If that is revolutionizing social structures, we would agree
that people's power is in the seat and seat bourgeois bureaucracy, a debate largely
outweighed in practice by anarchists.
The handouts as a tool of the state "welfare", is now the spearhead for this government.
Bonds that are delivered to the neediest population, are shown as if Morales and the State
were the managers of these handouts. People forget that ... with the media and distractor
momentum MAS was she who struggled in October 2003 by the nationalization of gas and the
expulsion of the transnationals. And now, under the phrase "We want partners and not
bosses" executed by Evo Morales, have yet to transnationals operating in Bolivia and
adaptation of contracts, we are satisfied with the handouts!. In addition, behind each
figure, there are details that are not generally known.
Entrepreneurship, Santa Cruz Youth Union (Group of shock from the right), Police, Army,
Bolivian Communist Party, NGO's, are what put the unconditional support "change process"
or switching sides with the clear understanding that the best way of stop a revolution is
to take the central power. It is an illusion to believe that 63% of the votes obtained by
MAS is an act of revolutionary consciousness. What went where the votes of the right, from
previous elections?
No doubt a lot left to fight, look at the political landscape is riddled Bolivian
election, that space by and for the local bourgeoisie, has its limitations. Never the
demands of society will be settled in these areas of consensus. Although the State, with
all its apparatus was strengthened (with the support of Venezuela), has not yet been
reached base structures, where horizontal and direct practice is a healthy habit. Our task
as anarchists is to deposit the greatest efforts to strengthen the state wherever looks
away. Voiceless Unions, Indigenous Peoples from power by not submitting to the messianic
figure culturalist and Morales, municipalities where the absence of basic services and
depredation of the environment are part of state policy. They are the guiding principle
for the restructuring of the social demands for far left in this ridiculous attempt to
institutionalize the revolution.
We value the contributions of comrades who did see their concern regarding the political
situation in Bolivia, by making pronouncements and writings that were published in
different websites, however, we believe that developing this type of analysis is necessary
seriousness and especially la réponse, since many of these pronouncements and writings
made by "federations" and "anarchists", became disrespectful when they expressed their
support and solidarity with MAS populism. It is also necessary to consider the role that
the state will always play with regard to social movements: its intervention,
institutionalization and destruction.
We believe that since the anarchist position, support any form of government and
especially the neo-liberal "change process" in Bolivia in a grossly irresponsible and
immature. We know that information resulting from this part of the world can be very
confusing, but we believe that any person or organization holding the struggle of peoples
can not develop from a centralized power, will have a clearer picture.
We do not consider that the past "revolutionary" by some supporters of the MAS, or ethnic
origin of the components of the MAS is sufficient reason to consider drivers of the
"cultural revolution", as there are most important and current reality show that
continues, that the struggle is between those who have everything and are covered by the
state and have nothing more than basic organizational strength.
Finally, we appeal to continue fighting, to keep organizing and building a conscious,
self-organized and combative.
