The State of Israel continues its war on the Bedouin* Talalqa, who live in their village,
Twayyel Abu Jarwal. On Tuesday, 18th August, 2009, Twayyel Abu Jarwal was demolished for
the 27th time by officials from the Ministry of the Interior, escorted by the police.
In 1952 the state evicted the Talalqa tribe from their own land in Twayyel Abu Jarwal and
sent them to what is now the exclusively Jewish town, Meitar. In the 1970s they were
transferred to the Bedouin township Laqiya, which was established at that time. There they
were put on land belonging to the Al-Sana' and El-Asad tribes, causing conflicts between
the land owners and those transferred to that land. ---- Due to that conflict, caused by
the state, some of the Talalqa had to leave. All their appeals to the state went
unanswered. Having no alternative, some of them returned to their original land, and the
state has been trying to evict them from there ever since.

* Amos is an Israeli anarchist activist. He is member of kibbutz. Often we meet in
demonstrations against the 1967 Israeli occupation and specific atrocities - both in the
1967 occupied teritories and the old one of 1948. He does the "Don't say we did not know"
project.
** The Bedouins were nomads till the modern era and semi nomads till not long ago. In the
1948 areas Israel was established on, the main area the Bedouins who were not transfered
out live is in the south.
