Welcome to the website of the Aotearoa Anarchist Network.
http://www.anarchism.net.nz/ The Aotearoa Anarchist Network was established at
the 2007 "Anarchism as Organising " conference held in Tamaki Makaurau. The
Auckland Anarchist Collective http://anarchism.net.nz/auckland and Wildcat
collectives http://anarchism.net.nz/wildcat are responsible for
coordinating/organising the use of the network The network currently consists
mainly of a website and a regular email update/events list. Feel free to browse
the website and if you see something missing send us an email at

Auckland Anarchist Collective

The Auckland Anarchist Collective is a new collective of old and new anarchists.
We have been meeting regularly as a group since June 2007 but we have worked,
organised and stood together on picket lines and marched in demonstrations
together for many years. Find out more about us here:

""As a new collective, we have painted, cleaned and lent books to build the A
Space Inside Social Center for Auckland activists and we are producing a new
zine. Together we helped free the imprisoned Christian convert Ali Panah and we
also organised a protest against the US-NZ parternship forum.

Most recently we have come together to defend and free our friends (including
AAC member Omar Hamed) who have been arrested and imprisoned in the recent
“terror” raids. We have formed a prisoner support sub-committee to fundraise,
visit and support prisoners and their whanau. We have also been working closely
with Concious Collaborations and the GPJA and supporters Civil Rights Defence
Committee. We have held several protests and marches.

As individuals and as informal groups of friends we are also involved in a range
of other groups from animal rights to workers rights, making stickers, screening
films, providing free webhosting and growing gardens. We each work hard to fight
the effects of capitalism, the state and authority in our personal lives.

We are currently discussing and debating where we would like to take the group,
including it's name. The group is open, please add your voice and join us!

Wildcat (Wellington)

Declaration of the Wildcat Anarchist Collective, June 2005 (as amended
July 2007).

Wildcat exists to promote and encourage moves towards an anarchist
society. That is, a society based on a network of communities formed
by voluntary agreements based on cooperation and respect for the
freedom of others.

We oppose all forms of oppression including sexism, racism,
patriarchy, colonialism, religious intolerance, heterosexism,
discrimination on the basis of sexuality, class structures, the
governing of one person by another and any other form of
authoritarianism that may turn up. We understand that many of these
forms of oppression are linked and work together to fuck us over.

We consider the class structure of society to be an important and
often ignored part of the oppressive capitalist and state structures
that now control the world, so one of our focuses is exposing and
opposing its existence.

We find both private capitalism and state rule creepy and they make us
shudder, so we support genuine resistance to authority, but are not
the slightest bit interested in those who seek to replace one form of
authoritarianism with another.
