Picket 6.45pm Tuesday 28th November 2006 AA (Alexander Astor) Hall, Kadimah
College, Greys Ave,( opp YMCA, near Pitt street intersection)Auckland
The PALESTINE HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN & STUDENTS FOR JUSTICE IN PALESTINE will be
protesting the visit of Lieutenant General (Ret) Moshe Ya'alon, former Chief of
Staff Israeli 'Defence' Force 2002-2005, to Auckland.
Ya'alon, otherwise known as the "Butcher of Qana", is responsible for a number
of human rights violations and war crimes, including the IDF's deliberate
shelling of the United Nations compound at Qana in southern Lebanon, on the 18th
April 1996.
Support the protest - War criminals, like Ya'alon are not welcome in
Aotearoa-New Zealand !
Bring placards "Butcher of Qana" " War Criminal" etc etc
West Papua Independence Day
December 1 marks the 45th anniversary of the date on which the newly formed West
New Guinea Council voted to rename their territory West Papua and affirmed their
own flag and national anthem. At that time the Dutch colonial power was
preparing the territory for independence.
Tragically, the people of West Papua were then denied their promised right to
self-determination . They have now endured repressive Indonesian military
control for more than 4 decades. More than 100,000 people have died in the
course of a conflict which has seen West Papua become a closed-off,
poverty-stricken and fearful place.
In West Papua it is illegal to raise the Morning Star flag, and those who do so
risk lengthy prison terms.
Join us to raise the flag in Queen Elizabeth Square on Friday December 1 at 12
noon in Downtown Square, Cnr Customs and Queen St, Auckland City. The
demonstration will conclude with a march to the offices of the NZ Super Fund
which invests in the Freeport McMoran Mine - heedless of its that company's
devastating environmental and human rights record.

Our points of unity are:
1. To provide an environment where youth are able to learn from one another,
assist and support each other and resist capitalism, injustice and oppression
together.
2. Strive to create and live alternatives to capitalism in our everyday lives.
3. To educate and be educated by youth about capitalism/oppression of people,
animals and the environment and the alternatives to them.
4. To create, assist and inspire groups struggling against oppression/exploitation.
5. Act according to the principles of liberty, equality, solidarity.
Radical Youth originally began with a few people who had a feeling that youth
needed to be more active in their communities to work for social justice. We
also thought that youth should organise independently from adults to defend our
interests and make our voices heard.
We don't want you to sign useless petitions or give a monthly donation. We want
you to come along to participate in the creation of a world based on peace,
liberty, solidarity and equality.
