(en) US, San Francisco, Nov 20! Emergency Critical Mass & Converge on the Mexican Consulate! 4pm

Date Sat, 18 Nov 2006 22:04:05 +0200

Attention Bicyclists! Emergency Critical Mass! 4pm Nov20! Mexican Consulate! In
solidarity with the courageous people of Oaxaca and the Other Campaign's call
for a show of international resistance on November 20th, we will meet in front
of the Mexican Consulate at 4pm to create a tornado of cyclists circling the
consulate. Oaxaca has shown us that people determined can stop the destructive
forces of neoliberalism and in its wake build a new world-- one that is just,
sustainable, and participatory. Bring your friends, your noise makers and
come celebrate with us! Monday, November 20th, 4pm!
532 Folsom St (at 2nd St, near Montgomery Station)
With a little bravery and a lot of solidarity, Critical Mass!

please pass along to all friends and co-conspirators.

To the people of Mexico:
To the people of the world:
To the people of the Bay Area:

Since the end of October all over the world we have been preparing for and
anticipating the next police-attack on the people of Oaxaca. Still Ruiz
feebly clings to his illusion of power, still political prisoners are held
in the dungeons of Mexico-- Still every day the bullets and brutality of
the Mexican federal police demonstrate the resilience and determination of

On November 20th, we will let Oaxaca know that we are listening to them,
that we worry for them and that above all, we support them. We will show
an ambitious solidarity. We have promised ourselves that we will not sit
by idly while those who struggle to change their world are attacked by
capitalists, bureaucrats, and police mercenaries.

WHEN: November 20th, 4pm
WHERE: Mexican Consulate in San Francisco, 532 Folsom Street (and 2nd
Street by Montgomery BART)

In keeping with the Other Campaign's call out to “wherever possible,
completely, partially, at intervals or symbolically shut down the major
artery roads, streets, toll booths, stations, airports and commercial
media”- we invite you to organize and
join with our festivities.

Along with the Other Campaign, the central message that we will send is
that the people of Oaxaca are not alone.

We support the demands of the Other Campaign and justice for Oaxaca:

Ulises Ruiz out of Oaxaca!

Immediate withdrawal of the occupying federal force from Oaxaca!

Immediate and unconditional freedom for all detainees!

Cancel all arrest warrants!

Punish the murderers!

Many of us are active in the anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian sectors
of the counter-globalization movement in the US. We are against all forms
of oppression and to this end we make decisions collectively and
horizontally-- we strive to be autonomous, decentralized, and
Although struggles for self-determination happen in every city, state and
continent, we see Oaxaca as a place where people are winning victories
against neoliberal capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy. The people
of Oaxaca have created spaces where dignity, autonomy, and
self-determination can thrive. We have come together to support and
celebrate these victories. See you on the 20th.
