Cop Watch Opposes the Gang Injunction
Cop Watch LA will be at the supports and will have a presence at the
upcoming actions and meetings to oppose the Gang Injunction. We feel this
is a way the police terrorize and criminalize our youth and occupy and
oppress our communities.

Gang Injuction Hearing this Wed. May 31st at City Hall
HEY L.A. -
WE FINALLY MIGHT BE CLOSE TO GETTING A VICTORY ON GANG
INJUNCTIONS AND GANG DATABASES.
COME OUT ON WEDNESDAY TO PUSH FOR:
> RIGHT TO NOTIFICATION,
> RIGHT TO APPEAL
> RIGHT TO REMOVAL
> RIGHT TO REPRESENTATION
> RIGHT TO RESOURCES (EXEMPT ALL COMMUNITY BASEDPROGRAMS AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION)
> AND RIGHT TO FAMILY UNIFICATION - NO DEPORTATION OF YOUTH

ATTEND THE GANG INJUNCTION HEARING
@ CITY HALL Wednesday,
May 31st ? 2pm
200 Spring St., downtown Los Angeles, (90012), to push
forward on the changes we want in police and sheriffs?
treatment of youth and our communities.

Prepare for the hearing by: checking out the changes
we have been pushing for regarding gang injunctions on
page 2 of the Action Update attached.

Also included is California law regarding gang
injunctions, gang databases and other policies enacted
since the 1980s on pages 3-11 (also in the attached
update).

In addition. this week, check out the last week of
Prison Nation at Watts Towers, a poster exhibition on
America?s addiction to incarceration from the Center
for the Study of Political Graphics. The YJC helped
to put the exhibit together, and we have a poster and
our slap tags in the show. (You can also check out
the exhibition online @ www.politicalgraphics.org.)

On the last day ? Sunday, June 4th, come out for Hip
Hop Is Not a Crime and see the posters at the same
time! Much love to
John Jennings for hooking up the tight poster seen
here to support YJC?s organizing campaigns.

======================================

We're doing support and solidarity for brother Kevin Ramos who was
arrested on May 1st at the May Day protest in McArthur Park by Rampart
Police.

Cop Watch is also doing patrols and independent security at the South
Central Farm on 41st and Alameda (www.southcentralfarmers.com). As well
as building relationships with the farmers directly while bringing and
organizing to bring in the community of South Central into this struggle

We're building alliances and relationships with other organizations,
networks and coalitions who share similar models and ideas. We're joining
on the solidarity with the Other Campaign by the EZLN (as well as studying
the 6th declaration and this model) to learn and adapt to our own specific
conditions, and adapt where we agree and dialogue where we disagree with
this and other alliances. We're building solidarity with other people
around the world who are fighting and building
autonomy, self-determination, and self-organization in their
communities. ====================================

We will be having a House Party to fundraise for Cop Watch at the Boyle
Heights Bee Hive Collective House on Sat. July 1st, more details later...
