(en) US, Atlanta, CTC Spring Retreat

Date Sun, 09 Apr 2006 09:21:18 +0300

Comrade, the Capital Terminus Collective* is having a spring retreat in the
foothills of Appalachia April 21-23. We have workshops and discussions for
our strategical and theoretical orientation on the agenda, as well as the
enjoyment of each other's presence. We realize that this is fairly soon,
however we want to extend an invitation to specific people whom we've had
positive interaction with in the past or who we feel an affinity towards
for other reasons (such as having been introduced by way of comrades from
sister organizations) to attend as observers. We think it is very
important to build a community of struggle & support among conscious
class-warriors, whether they call themselves libertarian socialist,
council communist, revolutionary syndicalist or anarchist-communist, or
any of the myriad of other currents which exist – to that end we always
want to engage in dialogue with those elements in the southeast towards
concretizing ourselves as a force, whether this means helping other
collectives get off the ground or trying to set up some sort of regional
organization that gets beyond the single-city localism which limits so
severely our ability to develop our politics or to take action in the
class struggle; however the main political purpose of this retreat is to
solidify our collective, and though we hope that our well-wishers in the
region are able to attend, we do not have currently greater regional
coordination as a priority for this event.

With all that said, we do hope we'll be able to enjoy your presence at
this retreat! We will be leaving Atlanta at different points in the day in
Friday the 21st and can arrange carpooling – let us know whether you would
rather try to arrange this or to travel directly to the site yourself (if
we get certain people traveling from the same area we may try to arrange
carpools among them as well). We will be sending out the agenda for the
weekend to registrants fairly soon; in the meantime (or afterwards) let us
know if there is anything you'd really like to see discussed, and in
particular if there is a workshop you're interested in having and we'll
try to arrange it. We have lodging arranged (though if you want or are
able to bring a tent that would be good) as well as food; if you're able
to contribute around $20 for the costs that would be very appreciated.

If you're not able/interested in going, we'd still like to hear back from
