New York, NY. The September Action Collective is hosting a Midatlantic
Regional Consulta on Saturday, September 3, 2005. The consulta is being
held at the AJ Muste Institute located in New York City and will run from
3 to 7 pm. This consulta will be a forum for discussing the organizing
of autonomous actions for the anti-war and global justice mobilizations
called for Washington DC on the weekend of September 23 through the 26th.
Where: 339 Lafayette Street, NYC 10012, Buzzer number 11
When: Saturday, September 3, 2005 from 3 to 7 pm
Email: nyc@septemberaction.org http://nyc.septemberaction.org
The September Action Collective is a group of organizers from across
the country who are committed to making sure that as many people as
possible are empowered to take action during the September 23 - 26
mobilizations. We formed to ensure that everything possible was being
done to create space for creative, autonomous direct action by a diverse
group of experienced and non-experienced participants, and that basic
mobilization logistical and information needs were met.

The members of the collective come from a variety of anti-war or
global justice groups, but this effort is entirely independent of
those groups. Many members came together while working in a caucus
for UFPJ's Nonviolent Direct Action working group, but this effort
is not a United for Peace and Justice effort and does not in any
way represent UFPJ. We are peace and global justice activists,
union organizers and civil rights activists, working as one force
committed to direct action in service to peace, people-power,
and progress.

As an open collective, we are always open to new members who are
committed to promoting space for creative direct action for the September
mobilization and beyond. We are looking to build a network of direct
action organizers to continue the struggle using an anti-authoritarian
organizational model. We are working with a number of groups to plan
several actions for the September mobilizations including: a breakaway
march on S24, an IMF/World bank global justice action on S25 and an
anti-war action at the Pentagon (and regional counter-recruitment actions)
on S26. To take part in planning these actions come to the NYC consulta or
contact us via the website or email.
