Join CATAPULT!* on March 17, 12 noon, at the war monument (Elgin and Sparks)
when we take to the streets in a confrontation with one of the beneficiaries
of the war in Iraq: SNC-Lavalin.
Through their ammunition production subsidiary, SNC TEC, SNC-Lavalin
provides bullets to the U.S. military. Each building destroyed and each
Iraqi life that ends means better profits for SNC. SNC is also seeking
reconstruction contracts in Iraq to rebuild what their munitions destroy.
CATAPULT! says it is time this blatant war-profiteering end - we will
interrupt this exploitation with direct intervention on the streets March
17, in one of many actions targeted at Canadian imperialism.

We will march from the war monument to the offices of SNC where speakers and
street theatre will expose the connection between the Canadian corporations
and war-making. With a noisy and colourful display we will deliver a message
to those who fill the U.S. "need" for bullets and profit off the destruction
that continues, 2 years after the war in Iraq began.

What can you do?
. come out on March 17th
. deck yourself in black and green to present a united front
. bring noise makers, drums, banners, and flags to call attention to our
presence
. bring your anger at a Canadian corporation aiding and abetting war crimes
. tell everyone you know
. keep the action going after the 17th

This action marks the beginning of a sustained campaign to call attention to
Canadian corporations that profit off of war and to the government's support
for these war-profiteers. We encourage people to undertake autonomous action
whenever possible against SNC-Lavalin and others who make money from death
and destruction.

See you in the streets.

* Community activists and organizers from Ottawa have come together to form
Catapult! This collective is organized under the People's Global Action
(PGA) hallmarks. Together with other groups who have accepted the PGA
hallmarks, including June 30th in Toronto and Block the Empire in Montreal,
we plan to extend a broad-based education and action campaign that exposes
Canadian involvement in war, (neo)colonialism, displacement, racism,
privatization, the reconfiguration of civil liberties and other forms of
domination. We will map the links between government and corporate actions
and the devastation of communities and the environment. We have chosen to
"Take Down SNC-Lavalin" - one of Canada's largest arms manufacturer and a
provider of ammunition to the American occupation in Iraq. In addition to
disrupting the operation of those who benefit from and perpetuate the
existing system, we are also working to build links between diverse activist
organizations and create an effective network to educate and mobilize our
communities. We call on all groups working for Justice to support and join
our campaign against this war-profiteer.

The "Take Down SNC" Campaign is organized on the basis of the People's
Global Action (PGA) Hallmarks:

1. A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism; all
trade agreements, institutions and governments that promote destructive
globalisation.
2. We reject all forms and systems of domination and discrimination
including, but not limited to, patriarchy, racism and religious
fundamentalism of all creeds. We embrace the full dignity of all human
beings.

3. A confrontational attitude, since we do not think that lobbying can have
a major impact in such biased and undemocratic organisations, in which
transnational capital is the only real policy-maker.

4. A call to direct action and civil disobedience, support for social
movements' struggles, advocating forms of resistance which maximize respect
for life and oppressed peoples' rights, as well as the construction of local
alternatives to global capitalism.

5. An organisational philosophy based on decentralisation and autonomy.
