Hey, folks. Hope everyone's keepin' their chins up as we emerge out of winter.
As always, the spring brings all the possibilities of life. We can be that
blade of grass breaking through the concrete, the fledgling bird bustin' out
of the nest, that kid running out of school to stomp through fresh
puddles. To keep it sweet, this note will be short. But pay
attention - there's some great stuff in here!
* ANARCHA FORUM - http://www.anarcha.org/forum We have finally
unveiled the long-awaited messageboard. There is now a free, easy
to access forum to announce, discuss and post all your secret
anarcha-feminist desires. I could go on, but you should just come visit.

* Welcome to the new riseup list. We're using this to distro
updates, because the volume of e-mails has gotten a little
cumbersome. Invite your friends:
http://lists.riseup.net/www/subrequest/anarcha

* The anarcha project is still coming along. There have now been
a total of 159 interviews! Kate finished the NorthWest/Plains
Tour last summer and is now collecting contacts for the
southeast. She hopes to tour the area this spring. Suggest folks
at http://www.anarcha.org/contact.php

*As an attempt to fill a void, the sallydarity anarcha-feminism
and gender anarchy resource page was created in early 2003
(http://www.anarcha.org/sallydarity/index.php). It included all
the links pertaining to anarcha-feminism that one could find in
a matter of hours, and grew over the last twenty or so months to
include hundreds of links to articles and webpages that relate
to gender issues from a radical/anarchist perspective or are of
interest to anarcha-feminists. It includes links to the text of
popular pamphlets like "Witches, Midwives, and Nurses," and
"Quiet Rumours" to gender-related articles from anarchist
favorite "slingshot" newspaper, to over twenty articles
addressing sexism within the anarchist movement, to five radical
critiques of gay marriage, even two articles from a green
anarchist perspective. An attempt was made at pulling together
contemporary radical/anarchist text on highly talked about
issues like inclusiveness, gender self-determination, consent,
safety, sexual liberation, and radical parenting with issues
that have been discussed at length through feminist history like
violence against women.

If you have any suggestions, questions, or additions, please
email sallydarity@yahoo.com.

* The anarcha co-conspirators are in Arizona and Louisiana. We
are looking for a third or forth vaguely web-literate person to
help us out. We would be very interested in folks from other
regions, people of color, people not in their twenties,
non-college grads, different genders - basically folks a little
different from us. If you're dedicated, this could also be a way
to learn about web stuff.

* So many amazing events coming up, all over the country: (Get
off the internet!)

I. Boston: La Rivolta! Anarcha-Feminist Festival - On March
5-6th in Boston is a two day anarcha-feminist festival
celebrating International Women's Day with workshops, music and
solidarity across borders. http://www.larivolta.org

II. Color of Violence III: INCITE in New Orleans, LA. The many
forms of violence experienced on a daily basis by women of color
around the world amount to nothing less than a global war on
Women of Color. This gathering will provide an opportunity for
women of color to develop and share organizing strategies to
address this global assault on women of color. Happening in New
Orleans, LA, March 11 - 13th. http://www.incite-national.org/

III. 10th Annual San Francisco Anarchist Book Fair March 26th.
Yah, the hottest spot to be in the country that weekend. Have
fun and send reports.

IV. Seventh Annual Southern Girls Convention in Baton Rouge, LA.
An annual grassroots meeting devoted to networking, organizing,
educating, and agitating, to empower women and girls in the
South. http://www.southerngirlsconvention.org/

V. It's on: SEANet 2005
Southeast Anarchist Gathering April 15-17, 2005: Charleston's

"Anarchism does not mean bloodshed; it does not mean robbery, arson,
etc. These monstrosities are, on the contrary, the characteristic
features of capitalism. Anarchism means peace and tranquility to all."
