NO ONE IS ILLEGAL! SOLIDARITY ACROSS BORDERS COMMUNITY FAIR
Saturday, June 18 12noon - 8pm Dufferin Grove Park (on Dufferin,
south of Bloor/Dufferin station)
Join No One Is Illegal-Toronto, agencies, unions, faith groups and other
community organizations to kick-start a week of activity in support the No
One Is Illegal 7-Day March on Ottawa. After years of fighting for status
and struggling against unjust detention and deportation practices,
self-organised committees of immigrants and refugees, and their allies,
have united on a campaign called Solidarity Across Borders. On June 18,
they will begin their trek, walking from Montreal to Ottawa, to force
Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Joe Volpe to realize the urgency
of their demands.

To celebrate this inspiring and courageous march, we invite you to come
out to the No One Is Illegal Community Fair at Dufferin Grove Park. The
Fair will include tons of food and activities for people of all ages, as
well as local DJs, musicians, poets and other performers. The Coalition
Against the Deportations of Palestinian Refugees-Toronto and artists from
No One Is Illegal-Toronto will also be setting up a mock refugee camp.

The Fair will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about Toronto
campaigns in defense of immigrants and refugees, including the Don’t Ask,
Don’t Tell Campaign. You can also find out how to get involved in on-going
Toronto support for the No One Is Illegal March on Ottawa. There will be a
Toronto Caravan to meet Montreal marchers to participate in Day 3 of the
walk.

WE ARE ALSO SENDING BUSES FROM TORONTO TO MEET THE SOLIDARITY ACROSS
BORDERS MARCH IN OTTAWA TO ECHO THEIR DEMANDS:

*THE REGULARISATION OF ALL NON-STATUS PERSONS
*AN END TO DEPORTATIONS
*AN END TO THE DETENTION OF MIGRANTS, IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES
*THE ABOLITION OF SECURITY CERTIFICATES
