This year marks the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty's 15th year of
existence. Beginning as a tiny, scrappy organization struggling to assert
the agenda of poor and working people in the province during the years
leading up to Harris' rule, we are standing strong.

The current campaign to raise welfare and disability support payment rates
has exploded across the province, with community clinics being held not
only in Toronto, but in a growing number of cities and towns across
Ontario. At this moment, the organizing work around this campaign is
putting more than 2 million dollars directly back into the cupboards,
fridges, homes and lives of people trying to survive on OW and ODSP in
this province - and we're still counting. This is reason to celebrate
and to energize ourselves and all of you to continue to take back what is
owed to us, and more.

For 15 years, OCAP has shown that a poor peoples' movement can shake those
in power and contribute to the building of decisive social struggle. For
15 years, we have worked to bring together poor communities to organize
and resist. For 15 years, we have fought back with dignity and strength.
We are still fighting.

Come and join us on June 18, 2005.
