(en) US, NYC, SATURDAY, JUNE 4TH: JOIN THE INDUSTRIAL WORKERS OF THE WORLD* FOR A DAY OF ACTION, CELEBRATION, AND REMEMBRANCE

PROTEST STARBUCKS UNION BUSTING!
Did you know that your friendly neighborhood starbucks is the site of an
illegal union-busting campaign? Just ask recently fired starbucks worker
Sarah Bender.
10:30AM SAT: Join a rowdy moving picket in front of the starbucks at 17th
St. and 1st Ave. Bring friends and a fighting spirit—the more, the
merrier.

Since November 2004, management at 17th and 1st have been illegally
interrogating and threatening workers about suspected union activity.
Store manager Noura Glenn was overheard discussing her plan to fire
starbucks Sarah for union activity a week before Sarah was "separated" for
allegedly mishandling six dollars. This is nothing new. The National Labor
Relation Board found Starbucks guilty of union busting that dates back to
May 2004.

So join us as we demand the unconditional reinstatement of Sarah Bender,
an end to illegal union busting, and an affirmation of our right to
organize! Celebrate the starbucks workers at 2nd Avenue and 9th St. who
proudly went public as an IWW union just now on May 27th! If you stop
inside, put a dollar in the tip jar but don't buy a thing! This is an
opportunity to show a ruthless corporation that they can't take out a
union organizer without facing the wrath of our community. An injury to
one is an injury to all.

L train to 1st ave (and 14th st) walk up three
streets. or NQRW, 456 to Union Square, walk east to 1st ave, and up three
streets
