(en) US, Houston, [pga* na] The Alarm #2 is out!

Date Tue, 26 Jul 2005 10:01:48 +0300

The second issue of the Alarm has just been completed and will be hitting
the streets this week. The Alarm is a Houston publication inspired by
Zapatismo and the People's Global Action Network, which highlights the
diverse groups and communities resisting exploitation and imperialism, and
making connections in our common struggles, in the heart of Tejas. In
addition to updates from local groups on their organizing efforts, this
Issue of The Alarm has an interview with Simon Sedillo of Austin talking
about Magonismo and radical resistance from Oaxaca to Tejas, as well as
with Maria Jimenez, a long time radical community organizer from Houston,
who talks about the sixties in Houston, the Zapatistas, and the potential
for social transformation in the belly of the beast.

By the end of the week The Alarm will be available at:

The Bill Hicks Resurrection Laboratory: 2915 Delafield
Corazon: 2318 Waugh Dr
KPFT Radio Station: 419 Lovett

As well as coffee shops like Brazil and Taft St. Coffee, and at tables at
activist events and concerts all around. Help with distribution would be
greatly appreciated, please get in touch if you are willing

The Alarm is starting an electronic newsletter, to keep folks updated
about the production of The Alarm zine, let folks know we get new
literature, and announce what events we will be tabling at. This will come
out no more than once a week, probably more like twice a month

If you would like to stay updated and support The Alarm send an email to
alarmed-subscribe@riseup.net to subscribe.

If you are unable to get to any of these locations or would like a copy
mailed to you, please get in touch with alarm@riseup.net or mail 2 stamps
