Welcome to the KC Direct Action Network http://www.kcdirectaction.net/
The KC Direct Action Network attempts to aid activists and other socially
concerned individuals in the Kansas City Metro Area to move out from behind
protest signs to take an active role in their community.
KCDAN feels that it is necessary to implement a diversity of tactics when
confronting issues we face today and we encourage people to identify their
personal boundaries and limitations.
Although we are anti-authoritarian by nature, we do not intend to emphasize
a single political philosophy. It is felt that in order to confront current
problems, we must move beyond sectarianism and build a united movement.

Kansas City's radical bookstore, the Crossroads Infoshop, will
be hosting a jamboree Thursday December 23rd. Bring friends and
family who are in town for a special guest from New Orleans who will
entertain with a solo acoustic set. The infoshop will be open from
noon, but festivities are expected to begin at 7:00pm. A small
donation to help the touring act would be greatly appreciated.

No Coast Like NO coast Nov 10, 2004 - 09:19 AM
GPAN Anarchists from across the Midwest traveled to Kansas City
last Friday for a three-day conference. The bi-annual Great Plains
Anarchist Network Caucus held its meetings at The Stray Cat.

People arrived at the Crossroads Infoshop to check-in throughout the
day. When the sun went down, an enormous game of capture the flag
was played that spanned approximately eight blocks of downtown.

The next day started with breakfast at 9:00. A count taken during
breakfast estimated 65 people while more arrived later as the main
meeting began.

During the days, workshops and network meetings were held as to
the future of the network, organizing strategies, and network
maintenance. In the evenings, the Crossroads Infoshop allowed the
use of its space for quiet discussion over cider and pumpkin bread,
while The Stray Cat held a private show with GPAN music

It was decided that the next GPAN meeting would be held in St.
Louis mayday weekend.
