........On Thursday, April 28, at 7:30pm, the Libertarian Book Club’s
Anarchist Forum will present a panel discussing the history of what
Democracy has meant and might mean in the future. This Forum will be our
first at the New SPACE (New School for Pluralistic Anti-Capitalist
Education) currently holding classes and events at the FUSION ARTS MUSEUM
57 Stanton Street, NYC (corner of Eldridge & Stanton Streets). This is in
Manhattan's Lower East Side, one block south of Houston and one block south
of the 2nd Ave. stop on the F and V trains.
…………It’s obvious that such a conversation is needed currently because the
Bush administration says over and over and over again that it is spreading
democracy around the world but never explains what they mean by democracy.
Included on the panel are Jay Dobkin and Bob Erler who do the public access
TV show “The Anarchist Propaganda and Variety Hour.” Bob says he will
explain how democracy changed from ancient Greece to the American
Revolution and then how the anarchist vision of human life being made
better, produced new ideas of what democracy might be. Jay has promised to
provide a highly intellectual but wildly exploding rant on how Bush means
nothing but xxxx when he says democracy. Special attention will be given to
anarchist and other radical concepts connected to how decisions in social
groups can be made. After the panel expresses its views there will be an
open Q&A session.

....There is no set fee for the presentation, but a contribution to aid the
LBC is suggested. If you have questions, contact the LBC /Anarchist Forum,
212-979-8353, or e-mail: roberterler@erols.com .

Anyone wishing to assist in planning future Anarchist Forums should attend
the monthly LBC meetings at 7:30pm on the last Tuesday of each month –
Tuesday the 26th this April (but nothing in June and July) at Room 202, 339
Lafayette St. in Manhattan.
