Today (23.092004) a solidarity demo for Giorgios
Monastiriotis* was organised in Istanbul by anti
militarists and anarchists infront of Greek Consulate.
Demo started from Taksim Square and demonstrators walked
through to Greek consulate building. They carried a banner
– We will not be anyone's soldier - and cards “say no”,
“ola ta krath einai dolofonoi” (all the states are murderer),
“peace is more valuable then leave to militarsim”.

Infront of consulate building solidarity text was
read; “We declareted that Giorgios Monastiriotis has
right to live how he wants and we are not accept any
reason to imprison him. We know that if people who
want peace, are not to raise their voices the
domination of blood, violence, death and prisons will
continue on world. Because of this we are inviting
people who are against war and militarism, to mobilize
and solidarity.”

After reading solidarity text a new objector
declaraded her objection.”

During the demo “we will not die, we will not kill, We
will not be anyone's soldier”, “refuse, resistance,
say no”, “all the states are murderer” slogans were
shouted.

At the end of demo, demonstrators rang the bell of
consulate building and asked for consul to give cards
to him for a present. But nobody took them and they
left them at the door. After demo police took the
presents.
