Solidarity Across Borders is a Montreal-area coalition of groups and
individuals coming together in defence of the rights of immigrants and
refugees. After a successful campaign launch this past March 5 -- with
over 250 persons attending a film and cultural event at Le Salon -- we
are now focussing on mobilizing and organizing efforts for the April 24,
2004 Solidarity Across Borders demonstration in Montreal.
We need your help in order to have a successful demonstration in six
weeks. There will be regular meetings between now and April 24 to help
plan the demonstration. The meetings will take place on the following
Fridays: March 19, April 2, April 9, April 16 and April 23

All meetings will begin at 6:30pm (sharp) at QPIRG-Concordia (1420
Sherbrooke West, suite 404, at the corner of Bishop, metro

There are six working groups that have been formed; they include:
Mobilization; Popular Education; Logistics; External Liaison; Media; and
a Cultural Committee.

IF YOU CAN HELP with the Solidarity Across Borders effort, please attend
the meetings, or get in touch at 514-859-9023 or nooneisillegal (at) tao.ca

The demands of Solidarity Across Borders are: 1) The regularization of
all non-status persons; 2) An end to deportations; 3) An end to
detentions; 4) The abolition of security certificates.

Moreover, we also endorse the specific demands of the groups and campaigns
that make up Solidarity Across Borders.

Solidarity Across Borders members include: The Coalition Against the
Deportation of Palestinian Refugees, The Pakistani Action Committee
Against Racial Profiling, The Action Committee of Non-Status Algerians,
No One Is Illegal-Montreal, Colombianos Unidos, The Justice Coalition
for Adil Charkaoui, The Support Committee for Basque Political
Prisoners, The Kurdish Institute of Montreal, The South Asian Women's
Community Center, The Immigrant Worker's Center, Block the
Empire-Montreal, NEFAC-Montreal and other individuals.
