> From DSM collective Belgrade Peoples Global Action conference convenor 2004
A call to all Eastern european peoples movements for the Peoples global action conference
July 23rd - 29th in Belgrade, Post -yugoslavia
Calling all grassroots action networks to participate.
this communication is directed to Eastern European groups who may
not be familiar with the existence or concepts of Peoples Global Action .
Peoples Global Action is network of grass roots anti capitalist groups,
that functions through a common agreement upon principles of action.
1. A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism; all trade
agreements, institutions and governments that promote destructive globalisation.

2. We reject all forms and systems of domination and discrimination
including, but not limited to, patriarchy, racism and religious
fundamentalism of all creeds.
We embrace the full dignity of all human beings.

3. A confrontational attitude, since we do not think that lobbying
can have a major impact in such biased and undemocratic
organisations, in which transnational capital is the only real

4. A call to direct action and civil disobedience, support for
social movements' struggles, advocating forms of resistance which
maximize respect for life and oppressed peoples' rights, as well as
the construction of local alternatives to global capitalism.

5. An organisational philosophy based on decentralisation and autonomy.
From july 23rd to 29th the third Peoples global Action conference
in Europe will be held in Belgrade.

The conference presents an opportunity for groups to gather and
exchange information and experiences that can be of value in
strenghthening and supporting each others struggles.
Rather than being a conference of experts and academics, it is a
gathering of people who are working at a ground level and gives
value to the perspective of participatory action.

It is a particular goal of the conveners that this gathering of
peoples global offers an opportunity to strengthen networks between
Eastern European groups and to highlight the situation faced by
those in Eastern Euroupe.

It is with this goal that we invite your participation, because if
this conference consists of only those who come from the west to
speak then there is little point in its being sited in Belgrade.

Those wishing to participate, to take part in organising work shops
or contributing to the conference are encouraged to make contact
with the PGA conveners as soon as possible.
