The Glasgow Autonomous Project (GAP) has been alive in one
form or another for over a year and a half. The group has included
many different individuals who want to make the world a better
place, and mean to take action towards that end. We reject the
right or responsibility of politicians and other bosses to fix or
sontrol our lives, beliving instead that people organising together is
a stronger and more stable way of life than sitting around waiting
for someone else to solve our problems.
To help both ourselves and the various communities we are part
of, as well as anyone else who wants to get involved, we have
aquired a temporary social centre. 58 Albion Street, know as the
Printworks, serves as a drop-in from noon to 9pm seven days a
week. There is fair trade coffee and tea avilable for a donation (or
free, if that's appropriate to you) and people to talk to. Many
groups hold meetings and events in the centre, and we're always
happy to share our space and ressources.

We run on a volunteer basis and always need folks to get involved.
It is a social centre afterall. Come and build something better.

GAP and the Printworks are democratic organisations. We have
no bosses, no politicians. We work hard to eliminate power
imbalances and employ group decision-making. Anyone wanting a
say in how the centre is run is welcome to come along to a General
Assembly. They are held at 7:00 every Tuesday at the Printworks.

Big GAP Meeting Minutes, 26-06-04

This meeting was held in order that people who are or would like
to be involved in GAP could sit down and discuss ideas relating to
the future of the group. It was very successful, and if you were not
there the minutes are worth reading.
