We believe in organization and the necessity of organization. We
believe anarchist organizations are necessary for the transformation of
society. We recognize that social movements of the past have been
hijacked by authoritarian groups that have only replaced the old ruling
class with a new one; this is in direct confrontation with the
principles of true liberation. True revolution must come from the
people, abolish hierarchy and oppression, and cannot come from a
minority acting in the name of the majority. We are neither a party nor
a self-proclaimed vanguard, simply conscious revolutionaries freely
choosing to work together in order to advance towards shared goals. -
excerpted from FNAC Aims and Principles.

The Federation of Northwest Anarchist-Communists will be holding its
2nd Conference this Labour Day Weekend in Victoria, British Columbia,
Canada. Since holding our 1st Conference in January of 2004, FNAC
members have engaged in a variety of struggles as well as internal
organizational development. Activities have included the publishing of
the rank and file agitational Firebrand, engaging the labour movement
on issues of police accountability, distributing general and specific
anarchist-communist literature, hosting cultural and educational events,
as well as being involved in varying capacities within the student and
labour movements. We have participated in organizing numerous protests
and campaigns, including the anti-Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit
convergence, the anti-National Governor's Association meeting, as well
as having a visible and active presence at May Day events in cities
across the pacifc northwest.

Since the last conference we have been engaging in theoretical as well
as practical development, with a focus on the organizational framework
we seek to adopt. Part of this process has included discussions with
anarcho-communists from across North America, including militants from
the North Eastern Federation of Anarcho-Communists. Our 2nd Conference
is intended to establish a more coherent, structurally sound
organizational process and framework within which we can function as a
solid tendency within broader social struggles.

Our intentions in moving towards a fully-functioning Federation are
threefold. Our fundamental goal is to create an organization which
unites anarchist-communists from across the Pacific Northwest. We view
this as integral in the process of un ting individuals and collectives
engaged in localized, regional, and international struggles, cultivating
the experiences and ideas of anarchist-communists into a shared platform
for developing our theory and practise. The principle of upholding
anarchist specific organization is essential to promoting our tactics
and ideas within broader social struggles taking place, and ensuring
their relevancy.

We invite all anarchist-communists in the Pacific Northwest, as well as
observers from existent Anarcho-Communist groups, to attend our 2nd
Conference. For information on registration, agendas, and proposals,
please contact the Firebrand Collective at pdxfirebrand@ziplip.com.

It is time for anarchism to leave the swamp of disorganization, to put
an end to endless vacillations on the most tactical and theoretical
questions, to resolutely move towards a clearly recognized goal, and to
operate an organized collective practise. - Organizational Platform of
the Libertarian Communists, Dielo Trouda Group.
