Friends, This final outreach email will be short in part because many of you
already know if and when you will be attending LAC 2004 and in part
because all week long we have been threatened with the termination of
opening night space at Hunter College which would have been a disaster.
This email will contain some basic information about:
- Conference program
- Registration
- Food
- Transportation
- Tabling

Few updates:

Final schedule complete with speaker names is up on the website:

Approx 400 people have registered out of a possible 900 available spaces
so please take a few minutes and register either over the phone with the
CUNY Graduate Center (212.817.8215) or during our opening night event on
Friday August 20th over at Hunter College:

If you do not register by Friday Night you might find youself not being to
attend - please register now even if you are used to registering day of at
most conferences)

Food: We will have some basic breakfast for attendees on both Saturday and
Sunday morning but for lunch you will have to either get your own lunch
outside or otherwise brown bag it and prepare a lunch for youself before
you come. The neighborhood is not the best for food and we are encouraging
folks not to leave the building for too long so if you can bring your own
lunch please do.

Transportation to the conference: Please check our website for directions
to the conference. We have PDF's available of both Bus and Subway maps.
Most of the main subway lines stop at 33/34th street including
(6,N,R,F,A,C,E,D,1,9)

Tabling: Many people from all over the East Coast have emailed us about
the tabling situation. Here is the deal - We have approx 25 tables and
over 40 participating organizations at the conference. This means that all
of our tables are going to participants in the conference and even then
some have not been able to get one because of lack of space. Please do not
take this personally if you have not recieved a table.

On a related note we ask everyone to please respect the space and the
decisions made by the organizers of the conference.

- The Life After Capitalism organizing team.

social struggle initiative.]
