On or around March 25, Timothy Jones, founder and member of A.R.I.S.E. (an
internal prisoner support/abolition group) was forced into administrative
segregation at the Missouri State Correctional Center at Potosi.
Tim had been involved in filing grievances on behalf of prisoners
at Potosi in response to practices of the prison law library.
Potosi's policy dictates that an inmate must choose between going
to the law library to work on their case or going to recreation time.
Many prisoners go weeks without outdoor or indoor recreation so
they can spend time filing needed paperwork for their cases.
In 1997, the Federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decalred such
practices by prisons to be in direct conflict with an inmate's
Constitutional Rights. In Allen v. the City and County of
Honolulu, the court ruled that "An inmate should not have to
forego outdoor recreation to which he would otherwise be entitled
simply because he excercises his clearly established constitutional
right of access to the courts... [A]n inmate cannot be forced to
sacrifice one constitutionally protected right solely because
another is respected."
Now, for fighting for "protected rights" Tim has been railroaded.

Your help is needed!
