Youth anti-military-recruitment collective Through The Wire is calling
for an emergency anti-war at Fountain Square Park in East Lansing this
Saturday, 10 April 2004 at 5:00 PM, in response to the recent uprisings
and retaliations. Students are fed up with the military--we want them
out of our schools, and out of Iraq. This rally will allow us to
express our frustration and dissatisfaction with our country's racist,
classist war and misuse of our friends and family members as soldiers.
Through The Wire is made up mainly of high school students, along with
Lansing and East Lansing residents. We have all experienced military
recruitment efforts, and don't want any of our friends and family to be
subjected to their false promises and death-wishes. We are for
challenging military recruitment in our schools and communities. We
support military personnel questioning why they are fighting. We
support their resistance to U.S. military action when and where they
can. We challenge a society where people are forced to join the
military because they do not have other opportunities. We are for
creating a society that empowers all people to realize their potential.
We are for communication, education, and action. We work to create a
new world without poverty, war, racism, sexism, and homophobia.

WHAT: rally protesting the war and occupation in Iraq, to bring the
troops home NOW!
