Prisoners of War Against War - In Court 19th Sept
Fairford Peace Watch has posted an update on the
hearings: "Those accused of crimes at USAF Fairford
during the attack on Iraq will be attending court to
hear what the next stage of their cases is to be. The
trials of the Fairford defendants is an opportunity to
let Blair's govenment know that we are ' still here',
not going away and not going to let him get away with
it. Come along and support on the day. Bring banners,
flags and leaflets or just yourselves and demonstrate
against the Blair regime inside and/or outside the
court."

So get along and show your support at: Gloucester
Crown Court, Friday 19th September 2003 at 10.00am.

Campaign Against Prison Slavery Harassed by Police
Not so busy with fighting the war on drugs and terror
that they can;t find time for a good old-fashioned bit
of political intimidation. CAPS orgainser, Mark
Barnsley; "As most of you know prior to our last
conference, when it was agreed to move the CAPS postal
address to Brighton, our address was at the Cardigan
Centre in Leeds, where Leeds Prisoners Solidarity
Group also have a box. Since the Leeds address has
been widely advertised we renewed the box a few months
ago. Recently however it has become apparent that the
State are intercepting and withholding both CAPS and
LPSG mail, and the police have visited the Cardigan
Centre to 'make enquiries' about CAPS, with my name
being mentioned specifically. Clearly they're worried
about CAPS, an entirely legitimate campaign, which is
shaping up into an effective one, and I think we can
expect that more of this (presently) low-level police
harrassment will follow."

Simon Chapman Latest
Update from the Wombles website: "As some of our
readers might know, Simons first appeal was lodged on
July 1st. The first appeal process is on the majority
of cases rejected. It would have been a miracle if the
appeal failed. This we were told from the start so it
came as no surprise when we heard that it indeed, had
failed. Almost 45 days of waiting [appeal proccess
should take no more than 30-40 days] for Simon to know
what he already knew. With that the Second appeal
process was lodged, this time the Simons
counter-evidence was re-submitted including the video
evidence, photos and statements. We are hoping that
this appeal will succeed. It will not hopefully take
as much time as the first appeal and we should know a
result in 3-4 weeks time. In the meantime, Simon and
the rest of the Thessaloniki 7 need a great deal of
support and solidarity. Unfortunately as I write this
we have no updates on the appeal processes of the
remaining prisoners. Information is still sketchy and
contradictionary, though we hope to rectify this as
soon as we can."

There are three days of International Solidarity
planned: Sept. 20,21,22 , 2003.

To stay up-to-date on the cases of Simon and the other
activists, check out:

brutality can be seen here:
