The divisions and contrasts between Italian workers and foreign workers
only serves to maintain the domination of an economic structure which
itself provokes these lacerations and which needs a weak, scattered workforce
complete with the image of strong workers but with a weak sector mainly
composed of immigrants, women and young people.
The task of those workers who want to strengthen and revitalize
a real opposition to this economic system which splits up
society and creates division within the workforce, is to unite
workers of different origins, religions and sexes as much as possible.

For some time it has been our belief that in order to regain the
capacity for anti-capitalist action on a European level, one of
our priorities must be to eliminate the contradiction within the
class which is represented by forms of racism and instead
exploit the contradictions which the presence of a huge
reservoir of manpower introduces, with the aim of bringing about
a radical change to the capitalist society.

Organized workers have often spoken of "strength through unity"
- the strength to change this world, to be able to build a new
one where humans are valued for themselves, not for their market
value, where people can make the most of their cultural
resources, but above all where they are free from capitalist
economic oppression and can freely self-manage a more
equalitarian, freer society.

We anarchist communists believe that solidarity between people
and internationalism are not empty words or simple slogans. They
are indispensable elements of our theory from which derives an
approach to the problems of the relationships between different
peoples which is different to the solidaristic vision which is
today shared by different sectors of society and political
forces, from the ex-communists to the catholics, right up to the
various brands of fundamentalism which, unfortunately, prosper
throughout all societies.

It is essential therefore, that the Italian and European
anti-capitalist movement clarify this problem. This would serve
to strengthen the chances of united political action and of a
re-birth of a class-struggle opposition in Europe together with
a strenghtening of international connections between
anti-capitalist forces, the only way towards bringing about a
real change in present-day society.
