As a statement in the debate about the housing shortage in Stockholm
activists in "Stockholm Anarchists" decided to symbolically squat
Hammarbyhöjden's abandoned stationhouse and have a party at the place.
We mean that the politicians that claim to rule Stockholm doesn't take
their responsibility to provide all people in the city with housing, a
right that should be as sure as the right to sleep and food on the table.
But the reality in Stockholm 2003 doesn't look like that. Youth can not
move away from their parents, people live on the streets and the rest are
living more and more tightly. We refuse to accept this! We refuse to accept
that there are mainly just luxury flats that are being built and that they
prioritise hotels instead of student housing in for example the former tax
house building. We also refuse to accept the politicians' broken promises
and their complete inability to act against the shortage of housing. It's
time to act!

We think that it is a punch in the face on everyone that has been affected
by the housing shortage that a space is empty and unused. Politicians
should take their responsibility! We in Stockholm Anarchists demand to have
the right of free disposal of the abandoned stationhouse in Hammarbyhöjden
in the future for cultural activities, meeting space and similar
activities. The shortage of available spaces in the Stockholm area forces
us to act outside the law. Is this the kind of development that they wish
to have in the town hall?
