The policies inspired by the G8 and zealously applied by
international organizations (such as the IMF, World Bank, WTO
and European Commission) and national governments is leading to
the impoverishment of people North and South, to the enriching
of a few transnational corporations and to a concentration of
Against this pillage of resources and the impositions of power
we must organise our resistance. The libertarian practices of
self-organization, self-management and direct action have an
important role to play in all this. Various militants from South
America, Africa and Spain will come to talk about their
experiences in the struggle to develop an alternative to
capitalist, patriarchal and authoritarian barbarism.

Organised by the Swiss organizations Organisation Socialiste
Libertaire (OSL) and Ya Basta!

Saturday 24 May, 3-7pm: The struggle of indigenous women in

with two indigenous women from Chiapas, from the civil society
in resistance, and one indigenous woman from Oaxaca, from the
national coordinating body of indigenous women and the CNI.

Throughout Mexico, indigenous women are organizing themselves to
fight the sexism and racism of Mexican society. For a few years
now, these fights have become very extensive and indigenous
women have built a national movement to oppose the patriarchal
structures of their communities as well as the neo-colonial
plans which are destroying their indigenous culture. These
comrades are committed to grassroots struggles to strengthen the
self-organization of the women in their communities, as within
the Zapatist movement and the national indigenous movement.

Sunday 25 May, 3-7pm: Mistreated and exploited children. Our
fight against all.

The fight against the mistreatment of children and child labour
fully concerns resistance against globalized capitalism.
Nicolas, who for more than a year in Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
carried on solidarity work and action with street children, will
present his experiences to us. A debate will follow on how we
can fight to help maltreated children outside the usual charity
measures and concerning the assistance which we know only too

Monday 26 May, 8pm: Direct action and self-organization in
Argentina and Brazil

with two comrades from the Organisacion Socialista Libertaria of
Argentina and the Federaçao Anarquista Gaucha of Brazil.

The comrades are coming to present these struggles which are
changing the impact and the culture of popular movements in
their respective countries. In Argentina, the piqueteros
movement is organized in the most deprived areas, blocking the
roads in the whole country. And Brazil is not only Lula: there
are autonomous practices of resistance, in particular within
waste recyclers. Like in other Latin America countries, these
two countries have significant self-organization and popular
direct action movements.

Tuesday 27 May, 8pm: Spanish anarcho-syndicalism building
towards the future. Radical syndicalism in Europe

with Eladio Villanueva, general secretary of the Confederacion
General de Trabajo (CGT), who will present the history,
experience and future plans of the red and black confederation.

Anarcho-syndicalism in the Spanish state is the inspiration of
many struggles there today. The CGT is the most important
libertarian union with the biggest membership and distribution.
A debate will follow on the possibilities of revolutionary
grassroots syndicalism in Europe, beginning with various
experiences including in Switzerland.

Venue for all debates and conferences: Le Puits, Escalier du
puits, beside the Café des Artisans (rue centrale 16, Rôtillon
