It was an incredible scenery.
Yesterday about 18:00 suddenly thousands of people
started to gather in the university. About 3000
anarchists from various groups were shouting all
together. In the informatory leaflets which were
distributed it was declared that there won't be any
violence -for sure if the cops do not create tension.
Really no incident happened during the march except
few high tension moments.
We had probably reached 5000 with participation of
people from around. March was going on in a mood which
was orderless but never in discontunuity. We drew a
wide curve in Thessaloniki and nearly wandered around
the whole city. Municipal buses, banks etc. were
graffitied using sprays. Cameras in the city were
painted or destroyed. Name plate of Communist Party
was broken down. (You know, in here Party members are
sth. like mixture of our [turkish] IP-TKP [Labor
Party-Turkish Communist Party] it was told that they
got 150000 euro from the state for their cooperation
with the cops to stop us-to protect shops-banks so
on). Later we came back to the campus.
There was a perfect consciousness and union in the
action. It was declared to be no violence and it
happened so. When the cops came nearer they were being
insulted and people were throwing plastic water
bottles (a few stones, too) at them but except these
in spite of so much anger everyone managed to control
him/herself. This is very important because there are
vandalists, hooligans, provocateors among anarchists.
And just for violence they walk with anarchists, but
luckily they are not so many.
Everyone is telling that after tomorrow there won't be
a city called Thessaloniki.
